Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
I have one that's about 12x16x24 that I can leave inside a car and run for a night and make everything bone dry.

I would also add pulling up the carpet as much as reasonable and using a fan to blow air underneath.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all. My 99 cabrio was outside during a horrible rain storm and for the first time water got in. The driver's floor wasn't so bad and dried out perfectly but the back seat (driver's side) was puddled. I vacuumed and dried it as best I could but there's water under that pedestal that the back jump seats rest on. Can someone explain to me how to remove it (and what tools I need) so I can dry and clean it there?
Thanks for the advice and help.
(All the drains were clear and I can't figure out why or how the water got in except that maybe the top didn't seat correctly when it went back up.)
IMO check the corners of the window. The ones in mine aren't flush and had little holes in them and this was apart from the whole back seam going out.
To fix the water I'd take a shop vac and suck up most of it, then leave the windows open in the garage and maybe put a fan on it or something.
I would also add pulling up the carpet as much as reasonable and using a fan to blow air underneath. You can dry the surface out and still have a soaked underpad.
On a friends 987 under the roof behind the B pillar (so the C pillar on a 911) there were plastic/rubberized trays that surrounded the drains. While the drains were clear, she ultimately found that this tray had a tear in it and was the source of her leak. I don't know if that is done the same on the 911s/996, but that might be another place to check.
I'd check your drains again. I'd guess they arent completely clear. Was the car parked on a steep angle during the rain? That could possibly do it as well.
+1 on blowing air under the carpets. You need to get that thing dried out completely.
What is the pedestal?
You need to get the carpets up or they will stay wet forever.
If the drains are clear, then it is the rubber seal on the rear window that seals it against the front window. I bet if you inspect it, it will be smooth.
The pedestal I'm referring to is the thing the back seats sit on. They don't sit directly on the frame. Unfortunately, the water is underneath that and vacuuming doesn't get 100%. I need to get tools to remove that entire back structure to get to it.
It's already been a couple of days, so your moldometer is probably already off the charts, but if you have a tool rental joint nearby (or an Amazon Prime account), you might want to look into a small dehumidifier. I have one that's about 12x16x24 that I can leave inside a car and run for a night and make everything bone dry.
Turns out a dehumidifier is one of those things you don't realize how often you can use until you own one.Server closet AC busts a drain line? Dehumidify it! Seals leaky and the Corvette gets rained on? Dehumidify it! Terrible that Billy Mays never got the chance to pimp dehumidifiers.
