Has anyone needed a 997.1 tiptronic transmission mechatronic (control unit) replaced? These are Mercedes 722.6 units apparently. These are reasonably common in the MB world. Wondering if anyone has had theirs checked by a Merc or a transmission specialist to diagnose and change a part in the mechtronic unit rather than change the entire unit?

Are you having problems? My 997.2 PDK is 10yrs old with 34K reverted to limp mode on two occasions, I quickly replaced the pan & filter, and flushed/purged the system twice and it is now better than ever.

Transmission warning light on and limp mode comes on despite oil n filter change. Checked by Porsche thru DHM. Suggested change the mechatronic unit. Wondered if anyone else had done this or had a control unit repaired?
