Suspected cause

I bought a matching 14-pin male connector to splice in, but I'm not willing to guess at the pin-out (already burned once trusting an AI-generated "wiring map" that turned out to be fabricated).

Suggestion

These cut wires go to a male 14 pin(only 11 pins are used) connection that would plug into the female plug.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hey all — working on a theft-recovery 2016 Carrera 4S Cabriolet (manual) with a cut wiring harness. Here's the routing I've traced so far: The harness originates in the rear of the car, behind the back seats, where the rear control modules live. It runs forward into the engine bay and splits into two branches at that point. Branch 1 (still connected/working fine): feeds tail lights, rear bumper, rear spoiler, and cooling fans. Branch 2 (cut): 11 loose wires that should route through an oval hole to a female 14-pin connector, which is now just dangling loose in the driver-side rear wheel well. Since the lighting/fan branch is fine and only the second branch was cut, this doesn't look like a power-distribution harness — my guess is it's carrying the CAN-bus and/or module power feed for something else back there (possibly PASM, ABS sensor circuit, brake wear, EPB, and/or the convertible top control unit — all of which stopped working, along with every center console switch). Important: the wire colors on the loose female connector do not match the wire colors on the cut wires in the engine bay. So this isn't a simple "match red to red" splice — I need the actual pin numbers/positions from a real diagram, not color-based guessing. I bought a matching 14-pin male connector to splice in, but I'm not willing to guess at the pin-out (already burned once trusting an AI-generated "wiring map" that turned out to be fabricated). If anyone has PIWIS access, I'd really appreciate a screenshot or printout of: The wiring diagram/pin-out for the 14-pin connector in the driver-side rear wheel well, and what module(s) it originates from in the rear The power/ground/CAN feed path to the center console switch module The convertible top control unit's connection into that same harness branch Happy to provide the VIN via PM to get the exact spec for my car (manual C4S, so some options may differ from typical PDK diagrams). Trying to avoid a $1,000+ dealer diagnostic bill for what looks like a bad splice/cut from before I bought the car. Even a phone photo of the diagram screen would help enormously. Thanks in advance.

POST 2Original post

Hey @kouroshnahali , that sounds like a real headache, especially since the wire colors don't match on the cut harness for your 991.1. Out of curiosity, have you been able to find what that 14-pin female connector in the wheel well was originally plugged into? Adding a bit more context there might help someone with PIWIS access zero in on the exact diagrams you need.

POST 3Original post

May be the pictures can shed some light. These cut wires go to a male 14 pin(only 11 pins are used) connection that would plug into the female plug. They control all the center console buttons such as PASM , soft top, sport and sport plus etc. That's why I need wiring diagram to figure out what color wire goes to what pin number of the male plug.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
