It uses an OEM 12v air compressor to fill the bags by way of a module thatll be located next to the battery.

Push the arrow button on a provided key fob and the compressor begins doing its thing, takes about 10-15seconds to fill completely.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

The bags do air out at speed so Im glad that worked but usually I do it manually.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I know some people dont follow my build thread and decided to post a thread separately. The kit is made by Cargraphic and was pretty easy to install. It raises the car via an airbag system to get around things when youre lowered. There is an option for 4 corners but mine is just the front end since the GT3/Aero front end sits lower in addition to a Demonspeed Cup lip. The airlift bag sits between the strut mount and spring. It uses an OEM 12v air compressor to fill the bags by way of a module thatll be located next to the battery. Push the arrow button on a provided key fob and the compressor begins doing its thing, takes about 10-15seconds to fill completely. Once past the obstacle, push the O button and it airs out completely. The module uses a speed sensor signal from the ABS harness to air out at 35mph automatically. The bag and the assembled strut: The installation was fairly simple. The air lines are 4mm, nothing special or proprietary and easy to cut. The kit was complete and you really didnt need anything else BUT I did have to drill a hole for the tether I didnt like that at all. Strut installed with tether: Wiring via the instructions was straight forward. Power + Negative at the battery - ABS Speed sensor tap + Ground - Module signal wire tap + Ground. Lastly, after connecting the 4mm air hoses to the air line leads coming off the bag and then running them to the module the install is complete. I recommend using the GT3 spare delete kit for a clean install. Driving impressions: I get about 1.5 of lift and thats enough to get me anywhere I need to go especially the tunnel at Homestead Miami Speedway. Getting out of my garage is nice and quiet now. The bags do air out at speed so Im glad that worked but usually I do it manually. While expensive, it really is a great compromise for those who keep their car in track configuration all year. What Id like to upgrade or add: Cargraphic has a button that mounts to the 997 light console assembly, think this should be an option for 996 cars. 99X GT3 air tank and hardwired compressor is something that should be considered. Currently working with my Indy to make this possible. Hope this helps anyone whos thinking about going lower but drive the car in places where thats not possible without some assistance. Please dont hesitate to contact me if you all have questions.

Thanks brother and Ive gotten questions via IG, figured it would be useful to someone because I found very little info via Google.

POST 4Original post

Awesome - very clean install too! I'm a total baboon when it comes to wiring - how were the directions to get it all wired up?

POST 5Original post

Sweet set up...!!!! Makes it easy to have a slammed car that still can traverse a driveway and parking lot entrance without losing your lip... or bumper... When fully retracted does it add height..? or change spring rate..? Wondering if this kit could be used for a ski car in the snow that might need another few inches height after a light snow storm...? I like it, makes me consider slamming one of my 996 and adding this kit.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So the instructions are clear but dont really explain what one of the wires does, the other ones make sense. The taps arent my favorite way but if Cargraphic says its ok Im good with that.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 19547461

While my driveway isnt too steep, I specifically got the kit so the lip wouldnt drag when driving in /out the garage. Hurricane rated garage doors require a large lip in the concrete base to press up against when wind pushes against the door. The lip can be around 2 tall, pre Ohlins install the 996 would skim the lip. For your use in snow it wouldnt be a bad idea to get all 4 bags vs the 2 bag kit I have. Youd probably have to ask Cargraphic if you can bypass the speed sensor tap if you intend on using the kit past 35mph. As for the spring rates, Im not sure. For the lift, think of it as a suspension lift on a truck youll gain body height with very little suspension compression. When on the track there was zero float that is usually associated with bags. The instructor had no idea they were there until we adjusted the front dampeners. This is how my car looks with the bags installed.

POST 8Original post

I have the kit with the roof console switch installed in my 997.2 TTS. Unfortunately it is not reliable. Sometimes I press and hold for 2 seconds and it works and other times I press for 10 seconds and nothing happens. With the A/C on and or radio on I cannot hear the compressor pump. I'd love to wire in a small red led light (hide in the instrument cluster) that turns on when the lift is up.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 19574408

Thats good to know. The system stopped working a couple days ago so Im working with Cargraphic to troubleshoot the issue.

POST 10Original post

That's unfortunate to hear - there are far cheaper options on the market too that seem to be varying degrees of spec (Stanceparts, Fortune Auto, etc) but seem to be fairly reliable. Hope you are able to troubleshoot it easily. What's the compressed stack height of the rubber bellows?
