According to the blurb a IMS retrofit Should be changed every 5-6 years ,Where as the IMS solution is for the life of the engine .

Hi all I'm new to this forum. Picking up a 2002 996 next week and want to get the IMS done as soon as possible. Interested to hear of experiences and best places to get the ims solution fitted. i'm thinking weltmeister or nineauto? I' m in Bayside, Melbourne. Cheers in advance

Welcome to the forum Watto!! Probably Nineauto as a Forum sponsor, also worth having a chat to @Dave Brennan nurburgring.com.au However, as a former owner of 2 cars susceptible to IMS problems, don;t get hung up about it as you won't enjoy what is a fantastic car.
