Suggestion

Obviously the above Design Edition side decals are very naff but the Porsche writing could look good if you use the same effect

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

31 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

well should get my car back next week from having a bit of work done, inc full wheel refurb. Seeing all the Spyders & Caymans R's that are being posted, im toying with the idea of putting some Black Porsche side decals on my Basalt Cayman. The wheels will come back in OB5 Silk Platinum, same as the Spyder wheel colour. Just looking for opinions. pics of said car pre-wheel colour change. cheers everyone

POST 2Original post

Personally, no. Just looks damned classy in black. If anything I'd black out or remove the Cayman badge on the boot...

POST 3Original post

I am not a big lover of non original decals, but the cayman R ones are really smart and fairly subtle.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hi Peter, yep the Cayman R does look good. Was at Wilmslow OPC the other week and I nearly left with the idea osf selling my rental Black decals on a black car, what your thoughts? whens the next meet btw?

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

no bother, not got my car back yet hopefully will be able to attend the next one.

POST 7Original post

OP do not pay the silly price Porsche charge ...we have a guy who does the same script style etc as the originals for £55 delivered .If interested i will pass on details to you . Brian

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

any pic's you could post Brian?

POST 9Original post

After 18 months with mine, I'm still not sure whether I prefer it with the factory fitted decals or whether I should remove them.

POST 10Original post

I think the side decals look good (but may be biased as I have a Spyder). Another option would be to go for a Design Edition effect: Obviously the above Design Edition side decals are very naff but the Porsche writing could look good if you use the same effect George

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Im really liking the Spyder, have yet to see one on the road. Would not mind getting a look at one Yep Im thinking Porsche writing in black, so it does not shout out too loud. May give it a try, can always remove them if they ruin the look of the car

POST 12Original post

Love mine..... Albeit not a boxster or Cayman. Think they look lovely if done correctly.

POST 13Original post

I wouldn't have picked them if buying new, but when I saw this I thought they looked superb! Really striking.

POST 15Original post

My RS60 came with them and I can't decide whether I like them or not although most of the time they are subtle. When I discovered the price of them I decided to keep them on and let the next owner decide what they want to do. [url] |http://thumbsnap.com/3bgS20lu[/u Edited by BIRMA on Sunday 27th October 17:17

POST 23Original post

Bought a Boxster a while back with Porsche decal down the side. Stripped off after a year, had calipers done in red, a la S Boxster. The look is so much better. Decals demean and take away the subtle lines of the car. If the designer wanted decals, they would have been etched into the shape. So decals? Nix!

POST 24Original post

I have a Cayman S Sport in RS Orange which came with the side decals. I took them off after a few months and think the car looks much better without. However I am thinking of changing it out for a Cayman R and will probably have the Porsche decals on that.

POST 25 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

well Ive bought a set in black and will get one of the decal guys at work to put them on for me. Just got my car back with the wheels refurb'd and not sure if i like them will get some pic's posted soon. The colour is Satin Platinum, not sure if the car is going down the Vader look

POST 26 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if the Porsche Side Decals are a Gloss or Matt finish?
