Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anybody know what the nearest paint match is to the silver used by Porsche for interior their parts ??? I'd like to repaint the bonnet release catches on my 996 with a paint I can get off the shelf, from Halfords in the UK, or somewhere like that. Cheers, SP

POST 2Original post

I'd assumed it was artic silver -- the bonnet release catches on mine seem to be the same as the bodywork although I've never looked really closely at it. Why don't you take the part into Halfords and match it against their colour books (which I had a look at when I picked up some Artic Silver from them. Oh yes, you'll need some clear lacquer too).

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Did you get Porsche Artic Silver form Halfords ???? Was it special order or did they have it already in a can ??? cheers, SP

POST 4Original post

Yes, they can make it up while you wait. Have a look at their books, you'll be surprised at the colours they can do. Must add that I haven't used it yet but intend tidying up my wheel bolts with it.
