2006 997 27,000 miles Yesterday I was stranded in first gear when one of the two cables between the shifter and transmission snapped. The cable failed about 6 inches from the transmission end. Has anyone else had a shifter cable snap? With so few miles this seems very odd. Thanks Joe

My model is an S, I thought I heard this was happening. If any others have had the experience please post, obviously stuck in a gear makes it hard to get home. Wondering if this is something we all should plan to inspect every 20,000 miles so if you've had the failure please post the mileage at which it occurred.

Sounds like the perfect time to upgrade to the Porsche Cup Car Cables. I believe that you can find them as a complete kit through TRG Racing. I have heard that they make the difference, but I do not have personal experince to back that up...Yet Sorry to hear about the bad luck, good luck, and I hope that you can get it back up and running soon.
