Agree, however with all this special tech that they’ve utilised in the GTS, I’d expect it to show the M4 a clean pair of heels, but in reality there’s no difference to something using established tech.

back in the day bought a new 360 Spider from Madrid on an Australian passport, so taxes free, run it for 6 months, renewed the tax free plates for another 6 months, next guy was Lebanese, paid me the same after 7000 Kms, the good old days.

is it true that the starting OTR price will be starting £107k? I know that some items are now standard like folding door mirrors, LED headlights, still seems steep.

Copying what other manufacturers have been doing for years by building allowance for discounts on main stream models into the price (look at price of BMWs Mercs JLR and the discount off from new) or for lower interest rates on new models, same with white goods etc you pay the same price for a tv , sofa etc cash as someone taking out interest free over 36 months so the interest is built into the RRP

My Euro dealer has consistently said it’s a €10k to €12k price increase on Base & S, so looks like a £106/107k base starting point with some items now standard. Sure PTS will get another leg up, soon Porsche will do a Ferrari and start charging for all paints. Couple more hours and we will know.
What gets up my goat is a basic Vw group hire car has adaptive cruise , warnings of overtake on the mirrors and a whole host of other stuff I have likely not noticed as every single one of those is extra on a 911!

Google let me down, lol!
That's spot on, thanks for posting.
Can now watch it on record and skip the dull bits.
I feel like Porsche are slowly but surely trying to turn the 911 into a Marcos LM600. Wait until the 911 999.5 or something.
Very strange presentation, the Aussie woman is obviously reading scripted questions, but written as though it as an impromptu conversation.
Also he says 50Kg as if it is nothing, 50Kg is a huge amount to a car that is already overweight.
Also, I very much dislike that is not an analogue tachometer.
Will this car be available with a manual gearbox?

So what if the new GTS just beats the old one in a drag race, I don't think many people buy a new 911 to drag race it. The Youtube generation has a lot to answer for and it seems the bigwigs at Porsche have drunk the Koolaid.
In summary, nice car, crap presentation unless you're 14!
Lots of previous optional extras now 'free' though - just configured a base Carrera for a laugh and it comes with rev camera, keyless, cruise, folding mirrors and a few others. Probably a lot of other stuff that I haven't noticed.
You could easily spec one now without any options and be happy, assuming you like black or white of course.
"Base" 911 Carrera (MY23) is £89,800 - is that the old model, with a 7K price drop?
Ahh, just scrolled down and it looks like the "old" .1 models have had price drops...

And how do any of those things improve the driving experience? I wouldn't pay extra for any of them if given the choice.
As someone wrote on another 992 thread, prices were going up a lot, plus they would hammer on the paint prices just like Ferrari did with 296.. both on the stock market now, get used to it.. of course 992.1 will get scooped up, but the tyre kickers and keyboard warriors on depreciation or loads of over priced cars will still chime in.. they must be sharpening their keyboard fingers on 992.2 prices.

I can only see the Carrera Cab on the Configurator, no base coupe model unless its a MY23 model?

They don't, but many people did spec those options as they were seen as must-haves so at least they are now just part of the spec.
This was the price this morning.. the 116 was a previous price and the carrera was 97 but now showing 89, so there is a bug with configurator. It was 124k as I specced one up last year and pulled out when it got to 150k…
The Porsche 911 is about to get significantly more expensive. While I appreciate the redesigned rear and the updated front lights, I don't think the 911 needed an increase in power. On UK roads, I often find it challenging to fully utilize the power in second gear.
It will be interesting to see how the value of Gen 1 models is affected, as they might appear quite affordable compared to the new Gen 2.

maybe they've done a cheeky price drop on the old model to clear stock ???

Based on the performance figures, it will be extraordinary. However, where can you fully utilize it? I switched my order from a new Gen.1 GTS to a manual T because the previous GTS, especially with PDK, was simply too fast.
I think the base model is now the one to have, the gts looks terrible with the active aero and no manual.
One thing I did notice was the rear seats in the GTS are a option (no cost) on the used market two seater cars take a lot longer to sell.

I am suspicious that it was to keep the weight below 1,600kg as they are a no-cost option .
I'd definitely spec them. But I'd buy the Carrera, not the GTS

Website all over the place but if you come out and back in you get £109800 starting price for the 911

The above, add to that he is nearly 51 and smirks and shouts his way through various drag race tests and generally acts like somebody who needs their ADHD meds upping!
However he is extremely successful by doing the above so clearly there is a market for this in a certain demographic, it's a demographic i clearly don't belong to but they love all that s

for sure somebody at hq has lost the plot. they obviously have no idea whats going on with the economy or the world! they've also decided to put the cayenne up nearly 10%.
having said that after calling a few opc's today and them having limited interest in the .2, i decided to place a deposit on a 4gts for an early car with december delivery. car came out to an eyewatering £167k. i must be mad, but the novelty value of the hybrid system had me sold.
market wasnt too impressed with the new cars either. after a few weeks of drops taking it back to below ipo price, dropped again today. even macan ev launch had it go up a little!
I think Porsche have been really clever. If you look at the base carrera it’s not gone up much at all. So a nicely specced carrera is £110000 / £115000 but it’ looks to me like it’s just a slightly tweaked engine not hybrid.
Are they not making an S version anymore ?
The new Turbo S is going to be insane looking a the GTS performance.

If I read correctly the base engine is not the single turbo anymore that spooled up quicker, but the 992.1 GTS engine, which is two turbos and detuned?

Insanely boring I'd wager. An expensive '5 minute wonder'
Honestly, I just configured a GTS 4 and it came out to £169,000. I did include the body kit and bucket seats, but otherwise, it's pretty much an average spec. I understand the performance aspect, but a 992.1 GTS is already incredibly fast, so I don't see the additional value. There are still a few Gen 1 2022 models available for between £107,000 and £110,000, and I wouldn't be surprised if they get snapped up quickly.

The base Carrera did have 2 turbos. Just a slightly smaller impeller and a conservative map.

A new AM Vantage starts from 165K so the new pricing probably isn’t too far off what you’d expect.

One has to get into the £180/90K for a notable specced one. They must have read the market but it seems such an expense.
I think it will make the 718E all the more desirable as that will be all-Electric and seem a great deal by comparison.

Does this use of a hybrid system help Porsche achieve emissions reduction towards government legislation / failure fines if so I'm impressed.
This is where motor sport comes into play for real world motoring.
Have to say the GTS is expensive but it now sits alongside the Turbo in performance terms for £20k less but with modern technology.

The logic on some options baffled me. I am surprised the Heritage interior pack has gone on the base.

I disagree, makes the 992.1 Turbo the one to have, if you take the base price of GTS 135k, sure, but you have to compare it to the Turbo Standard Spec and bring it up to Turbo Standard spec, which also has more hp and 650 Nm.. I did it today and with 18 ways on both the difference was in the low single 000’s. This for example is what I would buy over a new GTS, but I’m not buying. I’m after an F12.

I am so happy I bought a new 992.1 Carrera S MANUAL last year, as I wanted to buy a 3-pedal petrol non-hybrid 911, with decent compliant road orientated suspension while Porsche still made them .
I wonder if they will offer a manual version of the S or T in the next year or two? (For the other luddites like me)

I'd imagine they will all be PDK from here on in, what with that transmission being part of the hybrid technology.

Porsche exclude the £2700 odd first year registration / road tax costs. Plus as a min you’d want metallic, 20/21 wheels, sports seats plus, top window tint, heated gt s/wheel - so you’d be just under £106K OTR

Is the top window tint a must have?
Must admit I’m quite excited about the new engine tech. And now the GTS feels like Turbo performance in a more discreet package. Almost like a Touring but more practical.
I’d been wondering about selecting the manual but lack of this option has at least made my mind up for me.

for £98 seems fair to me. My CR has it and I think it is a good option. Depends if you like to reduce dazzle or not....and on dark coloured cars makes it look a bit more moody blending in with the roof line.

And how do any of those things improve the driving experience? I wouldn't pay extra for any of them if given the choice.
They don't, but many people did spec those options as they were seen as must-haves so at least they are now just part of the spec.
I still think think this site should be called Moneyheads.com but moving on , correct previously you could pick what you wanted to have/pay for now its standard and the prices have risen to reflect that and before any one says a steering wheel or the like is included on a Dacia Duster and they only cost £50 thats irrelevant

Interesting. You now have to add the rear seats on the base C2 as a non cost option.
Be interesting if its an option on the gt3 touring this time around on that basis......

Surprised no one mentioned the recent price increases for MY26.
£103.7K for the base, £115.4 for the T, £120.5K for the S and £137.9K for the GTS.
Yep, have been considering a move to a new Carrera cab. Price for my spec has increased £4K this week. I’ve noticed the price of some options have increased while others have stayed the same.
EdJ said:
It's happening everywhere though, isn't it? Can't remember the last car review I read or watched where I wasn't surprised by the price.
True, just don’t understand, 2 price increases since introduction of Carrera T 992 at £98,500 when I specced one but couldn’t have buckets seats and Bose as per launch a week earlier, then UK sales down roughly 25% in 2024 and now a T starts at £115,500..

There is a 50th Turbo in Porsche Tewkesbury which I’ve had a nose at twice. It’s in Aventurine. I love the interior but the stickers on the waistline and the white paint on the alloys are not good.

Agree, however with all this special tech that they’ve utilised in the GTS, I’d expect it to show the M4 a clean pair of heels, but in reality there’s no difference to something using established tech.
The M4 even out brakes it, which is normally a 911 strength imo..

Yes, I was a bit disappointed with the GTS in this case. But perhaps it really is just showing how good the M4 is. Would be interesting to see a current Turbo S in the same race.
Porsche Adds Classic 'Pasha' Trim Option to 911 Carrera Range
Good news for Pasha fans, since yesterdays release of the new Spirit 70 model, they have rolled out Pasha as an update across the whole Gen 2 range bar the T it seems.
But you can only select it with the 18 ways, so its around £10K

I agree about the black wheels - they’re a lovely design and you can’t see it properly when there’s no contrast.
The grey one looks like photos were taken outside then the car was cut out and stuck on a generic background. If you choose one colour on the approved used search and scroll through, the lighting and cameras at the dealerships clearly vary a lot because the same colour often looks very different.

What's the thoughts on the hybrid gts? Good, bad?
3 k miles in Hybrid GTS Cabs, Great car. Not quite as fast as 992 Turbo S on full boost, but pick up is a lot quicker in gear. Note a US Mag recorded 2.5 0-60 it really does feel that fast, the Hybrid system is very smart very fast re gen, now sounds great also. The best part for me though as it’s daily car until the new Turbo S arrives, is just how improved over the 992.1 GTS the ride quality and steering feel is, a bigger of range now in both comfort and sport. Steering feel wise I rate it almost as good as the ST. Having owned both a 4 GTS Hybrid and 2WD I rate the 2WD one as being more fun to drive.

No, Neodyme is now only available on the Forged Magnesium Lightweight Wheels. The new gold colour for the poverty spec wheels is now called California Gold. It is a bit lighter than Neodyme. I think any gold colour is a great contrast against dark colours one the rest of the car.

My original Black car above a 2WD GTS Cab was delayed by some 4 months so took a stock 4 GTS Hybrid Cab as a stop Gap for 3 months and last Dec, the 4 GTS was a great car over the winter months, fast and sure footed in any weather. Albeit the 992 Chassis has so much grip built into it, the addition of the 4WD just takes away lot of the fun IMO, as in its so planted. This 2WD GTS Hybrid is great fun, the steering feels lighter, and way more playful on the back end when pressed, the way it moves around reminds me of a 964 Turbo I had in the early 90s.

Have you pressed the small button under the left stalk? This will switch off the steering assist. Unfortunately you have to re press it every time you start the car otherwise you get the warning you have set out.

They have that matriculation tax at 14.75%, which you lose immediately on resale competing with other EU cars but still, crazy price.. back in the day bought a new 360 Spider from Madrid on an Australian passport, so taxes free, run it for 6 months, renewed the tax free plates for another 6 months, next guy was Lebanese, paid me the same after 7000 Kms, the good old days. Now I hear they are s
t hot on this and renewing after 6 months almost impossible.

Pair the dashcam to your phone.
Within the
App > Dashcam Mode > Driving
You can then switch off whether it will record "shocks" as an event and the sensitivity etc. When an Event is triggered it beeps.
Highly likely to be that IMO, it's sensitive and irritating in its default settings.
Hopefully that will solve the issue, if not then the search will go on. Good luck

Very lucky to have secured an Aug build slot for Sept collection on a 992.2 C2S from Silverstone Porsche.
No prior with them, other than a friend has had a couple of used cars from them, so called his sales chap last week who offered me the slot straight away.
Toying with two builds:
PTI1XMZ6 - colour combo is lovely pairing the swatches together in the showroom
PTS46YP0 - trying for a late 70s / early 80s clean and retro look
Grateful for any thoughts or suggestions.
Some quite extravagant speccing there. Did you mean to go for different seats with each?
If going for a retro look I’d be tempted by black paint with the silver window trims.

Both look very nice spec'd cars indeed. I would say that the 18 way seats are worth the extra (you spec'd them in the GT Silver car but not the Grey one) and would definitely agree with the Burmeister decision. I have it and it really is a significant step up from the Bose.
The retro seats in the GT Silver car look great but are seriously pricey. Have you seen them in the flesh? I'd want to get a look before committing that sort of cash. I think GT Silver is an excellent colour choice. I have it on my 991 and never tire of it. Having said that, the grey car is probably a more modern look and I like the contrast with the tan seats.
Nice decision to make - good luck!
Thanks for suggestions both. It's my retirement car, and probably the last car I'll ever buy, so I'm happy to option for me and not resale value preservation. Plus I know myself well enough that I'll regret not doing it properly.
It really is two different ways to go, rather than options on a theme.
Dealer doesn't have a pasha fabric swatch yet, but have a Spirit 70 on order for a customer, so hopefully will see that before my spec locks. And it is a ridiculous price if I think about it.
GT Silver is a classic colour. I did think about Guards Red with pasha as a another period combo
Vanadium over classic cognac / black is fantastic in reality. Dealer had a vanadium car in stock, so lined up the leather swatches over it to check
Glad Burmester is considered worthwhile since it is a big step up cost wise from Bose.
Agreed I need 18 ways also in the Vanadium build.
First world problems as they say!

That’s a very odd combo of specs when you’re used to the U.K. models. A Carrera S which comes as standard with the centre-lock wheels from the GTS? I guess it’s just a wider mix and match of options available here.
The model, which is offered exclusively in a rear-wheel drive layout, gains rear-axle steering, a PASM Sport suspension that lowers ride height by 10 mm, a walnut shift handle, the Sport Chrono Package and unique exhaust tuning as standard equipment. Center lock wheels - offered for the first time on a 911 Carrera S model - are standard as well and save more than 17 lbs. over the standard 911 Carrera S wheels. Four-way Sport Seats Plus and Titanium exhaust outlets with black trim also contribute to the complete package along with a standard SportDesign front fascia. A red "S" model designation on the rear rounds out the visual differentiation, a detail born from a modification liked by North American enthusiasts. The 14-way Sport Seats, the 18-way Sport Seats Plus and Folding Lightweight Bucket seats made of carbon fiber are available as added-cost options.
Powered by the 473-hp 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six, the new model offers a very powerful and well-balanced setup meant to be equally rewarding in corners and straight-line acceleration. The curb weight of the 911 Carrera S coupe with MT Package is just 3,327 lbs. - only 11 lbs. above that of the 911 Carrera T coupe. As with other Carrera S model variants, the standard brake system uses cast iron discs measuring 408 mm (front) and 380 mm (rear) with six-piston fixed calipers in the front and four-piston fixed calipers in the rear. Customers can also optionally specify Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) and carbon fiber bucket seats for further weight savings. The ability to specify PCCB is another area where the new model distinguishes itself from the Carrera T.
The 911 Carrera S with MT Package can be specified with a full range of interior and exterior personalization options available across the wider 911 lineup, offering broad customization potential. This includes 17 exterior paint colors, and - subject to availability - both Paint to Sample and Paint to Sample Plus options for virtually limitless personalization. More than 70 leather interior configurations are also available to provide a wide range of materials-based color combinations and trim options.
Porsche also offers optional exterior and interior packages to give the new model an even more distinctive appearance. The exterior package includes HD-Matrix Design headlights in black with a white color ring, wheels finished in Ceramica, the "S" in the rear model designation in red and rear PORSCHE lettering in white, and side view mirror lower housings painted in body color. Special puddle lights casting the six-speed manual shift pattern are also included in this package.
The interior package adds Plaid Sport-Tex fabric seat centers with stripes in Chalk. The seat belts and stitching match the seat stripes, which complement interior trim pieces in Ceramica with black brushed aluminum accents. The face of the Sport Chrono clock on the dashboard also gains a white accent ring, and the door sill guards are finished in brushed black aluminum.
Customers interested in the new 2027 911 Carrera S with MT Package may place an order through a Porsche Center. The starting MSRP is $167,100 for the coupe and $181,000 for the Cabriolet excluding a $2,350 fee for delivery, processing and handling. Deliveries are expected to begin by the end of 2026.

Shame, those Chalk seats look much nicer than the T offerings.
The problem is there is just so little actual demand for new manual 911s. I was fortunate enough to be able to order a 992.1 Carrera S to my own spec which included a manual gearbox. The salesman I dealt with said that was the only manual 992 he could recall their dealership selling. Everyone (apart from me, apparently) seems to want PDK as it is so good.

I've had some great manual transmissions over the years - a Ford GT and a Murcielago stand out. However, I really do like the PDK in my 911 and were I to buy another, it would definitely be PDK again. With such a great box I can see why manuals are getting a bit niche.
When the 992.1 was in production, no one bought the manual. It accounted for 10% of sales. I wanted one though.
When I purchase my C2, I remember asking for a manual car with few options. In my mind I was thinking the standard offering included more than I needed as well as having the lowest kerb weight, highest ride height and best wheels for the pot holes if you actually want to get anywhere.
I was told I had to wait for the T to be released or pay even more for a manual S. Either way, it seemed like a clever way of extracting another £15k/£20k out of me to go from blindingly quick to very blindingly quick.
For road use, it was difficult to see the value for me.
So I purchased a C2 PDK, as it was the cheapest option, which when ordered arrived built in my color in 6 weeks. Lovely.
It has been superb, I must say. No complaints whatsoever. Its been the best car I have owned for a number of reasons.
When its time was up for replacement, (2 years ago!), I kept it and I still have it with 80,000 miles now. I still love it.
I think I bought the least profitable 992 as far as Mr Porsche was concerned.
If I was going to buy another brand new 992, I would want a manual "S" in GT Silver or Bahama Yellow with a £10k Heritage interior and no sunroof. What a special car that would be. I would not want center lock wheels or carbon brakes if you paid me to have them.
In my opinion it would be much better value than a GTS/GT3 too, for road use and rarer.
Unfortunately if I was looking at chopping mine in, then I would have to spring around £85k, as I would want to own it outright.
Unless my numbers come up it seems a bit extravagant, as my old C2 still performs perfectly.

You’re welcome to your view, the old box was certainly “ok”. But having used both extensively i’d attest to a much improved shift.

Ive no real axe to grind, my old 9912 was a fine steer and the 7 speed gearbox was just as good as the six speed in my 718 Spyder.
The 7 speed did deliver lower revs for crusing and improved efficiency which I felt was worthwhile.
Its all a bit academic when the general consensus is that Porsche PDK gearbox is way better and avoids the angst of needing rev checks for sale.
