As you can see from my other thread I have just bought and fitted a Snooper S4-Neo.
Leading evidence: 'Install snooper s4-neo' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check bands' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I use the Valentine One, and the Snooper laser diffuser, with excellent results.

Check the bands that any GPS system has to offer very carefully.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi,
I've been using the Bel 550 Radar Detector for more than 2 years now...
Results: a full clean Driving Licence!!!
I bought it from Ed-equip / www.radar-detectors-uk.com / Tel # 0161 355 1275.
Price was £349 and they give a discount to PCGB Members.

As you can see from my other thread I have just bought and fitted a Snooper S4-Neo.
It is really good and I prefer the GPS warnings.... it has been very accurate so far. I am looking to hardwire it to the car and will keep the other thread up to date so that you can track my progress and satisfaction there.
the joy of GPS is that it informs you of SPECS cameras as well and you can also download schools into the Database so that you can become a really safe driver - I think that's more the point rather than just avoiding a ticket.
Regards
Ben
Like Fab, I have been using the Bell Euro 550 for a couple of years without any complaints.

Best wishes
I bought a Micro Road Pilot the other week, and whilst it's a GPS device it's been great so far. I bought it over the pure radar systems for two reasons: 1. it's very small 2. doesn't give false alerts

I sell all the above mention detectors, so I get to play with them all!
I use the Valentine One, and the Snooper laser diffuser, with excellent results.
The new Snooper S4 neo is a great bit of kit, but if your speed is in three figures it could leave you short on range.
Proactive detection is the only way to go; GPS on its own is a waste of time and money.
Check the bands that any GPS system has to offer very carefully.
This could happen, sunny day dual carriage way clear, right foot down, oh no mobile enforcement revenue collection unit ahead. Not on the GPS! Nicked!
Something that DETECTS the mobile laser unit - rather than fixed cameras (which may or may not actually contain a camera).
The GPS systems without laser add on (or preferably a Valentine 1) will only warn of possible fixed locations, and is useless unless someone else has notified the company of any new camera,
and
the information is then added to the database and
then
downloaded by the end user. This can potentially take a while...
A detector will warn of any gatso (new or otherwise) and tell you if you have been hit (or hit by scatter from another vehicle) by laser.
The only thing I don't seem to detect is Truvelo (forward facing cameras). Any one know howw these work?
Cheers Mark. I do have the laser add-on but my understanding is that this is not good enough because by the time it has detected the laser, it is too late as they already have a reading of your speed. The only chance you have is if the car in front of you has been targetted and your detector picks up the scatter. Am I right and if so, does this mean that the best option is to get a diffuser?
A Truvelo will be detected by a GPS system. I think they are forward facing cameras that dont flash and there are usually 3 or more lines on the road surface very close together.
I have a Morpheous ( an early type ) which seems to down load all the new cameras are very soon after if not immediate. I used to have a conventional detector which was constantly being triggered by anything incuding traffic lights and consequently I never ended up taking it seriously as the bleeping was virtually continuous. Does anyone know whether they have been refined.
I have no false alarms with the Morpheous.

Yes, and Yes!
Although if you are not wildly over the limit, and you slow down after the first "hit", maybe they will decide you realised you had mistakenly sped-up, and are slowing to the right speed[

Can anyone recommend a good:
a) laser diffuser and the cheapest place to get it
b) fitter to install it
I've been given a name already but would like to see if I can get other recommendations and hopefully a better price.
I get the impression here that any one with a GPS only will be driving slowly past every Gasto camera? Surley this is not the case?
Dumb when you consider most camera boxes are empty!<<<!
pedal to the metal,

Does anyone know the legal situation on a diffuser? It's my understanding that you will get away with a GPS / traditional detector (although probably not the best back-up to your claim that you where not speeding if stopped by the police and they see it) but a diffuser if found is an offence worse than the speeding ticket it'self?
I have a Road angle with Laser sensor and it works a treat. I used to have a Bell STI europa and found the range to be quite poor and the thing was always going mad for no apparent reason.
I have the LRC100 diffuser, and from what can make out and info I have read, it is Legal to own( as it is a remote garage door control) but illegal to use in the way to diffuse a police laser device. You could be charged with perverting the course etc , but when your charging down the bypass/motorway and the Fed's are sat on the bridge I don't see much chance of that. Also the LRC shuts down after a "hit" so giving you enough time to slow down to a safe speed and the Fed's can then relock you at a safe speed. Gives you about 5 sec's.
Truvelo is the two wires in the road with magnetic type pick up speed/distance= 3 extra point
Safe motoring.
