Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just got a '03 996, a jewel apart from the misty, yellowish headlight lenses. Any experience with headlight restoration kits that use progressive abrasives with a final top-coat? I'll appreciate the feedback. Thanx.

POST 3Original post

I used the 3M kit on mine and added a sealer. Worked well.

POST 4Original post

I discovered, by chance, that a Mother's claybar kit took away all of the discoloration on my wife's BMW 325i headlights. Much simpler than using one of the polishing kits and took about ten minutes, tops, for both sides. Worked amazingly well.

POST 6Original post

Clay bar, compound and/or polish will all take the yellow out and make your lens' new again. You can seal them with any synthetic wax too. The headlight restoration kits are just a high priced item for Rubes.
