Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I want to have my windows tinted. Does anyone know what the current regulations are an how strobgly they are enforced? Does tinting affect driving at night or on the track? Regards Jan

POST 2Original post

Jan Tintacar 020 8575 3523 www.tintacar.co.uk can bring you up to speed but they did the front side windows on my MINI Cooper S to match the factory rears. They can't go as dark on fronts because of law changes last August but they are very close match.[8D] Driving at night is fine no bad effects to worry about as long as you take your shades off [8D]

POST 3Original post

The law has been tightened and, this week, it was announced that stricter enforcement will now take effect. Unless I lived in the tropics I, personally, would avoid them. I travelled in the back of an M-Class Merc recently, on a dull day, with the so called 'privacy glass'. It was down right oppressive. I had to lower the window to let some light in. Also, depending on what car it is fitted to, it could dent the re-sale value. You might get away with it on a Mini Cooper, but not on a 996 - unless you were selling it to a drug dealer.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The company I asked about tinting told me that on a 996 the windows are already tinted to a certain degree and that they will be quite close to legal limit of 30 % already. I'll find out from OPC what the percentage is and report back. Jan
