Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Has anyone out there done a DIY install of the PCCM+ on a 996 with the Bose system (or at least Bose speakers)? I have a 2003 C4S that had the Bose system, but now has a double DIN head unit + amp installed. The dash and rear speakers have been replaced with aftermarket units, but the door speakers are still Bose. One of the things I don't know how to determine is if I would need the PCCM+ that's meant to work with the Bose system, or get the one that is not since all I have left from the Bose system is the door speakers and speaker wires? Also, for anyone that's done this install themselves, how much does it differ from a normal stereo install? And... does it require an amplifier or can it connect directly to the speakers? Thanks for all the help!
I've been following all the install threads, but haven't done my own. The one thing that is apparent is that the PCCM+ is compatible with Bose/MOST with much less configuration and troubleshooting than other OEM options. That may not be true for you with all the other changes.
The biggest issue with any aftermarket installation when you have the Bose amp is the MOST part of it - the fibre optic connections from the head unit to the amp. If you don't have that anymore, maybe the factory wiring has been taken out. If it has, then I think you're looking at a custom installation of any new head unit, whether it's the PCCM+ or any other. You still may be able to use one of the available adapters though.
