Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Does the 997.2 have a thermostat in the oil cooling system? Typically, my oil temperature for steady commuting at about 110 km/h is about 80-90C once the car warms up. Very little variation in this occurs. Today, I was having a hard time to get above 62C after 100 km of use. Outside temperature was about 15C and it was raining lightly. Any thoughts? Oil level is perfect and it was changed at the dealer as part of regular service only on 3 days ago on Thursday.

I've been known to answer unanswered questions after a big time lag, but who cares. After converting your temp data, here is my data on my '06 Cab S 997.1. This summer during 80-90F temps, my oli was around 210F. This fall when the temp was 60F/15C, the oil was just abouve 200. To me, that fluctuation means no thermostat. Your readings seem low! But then I'm not familiar with temps in NS. My water temp goes to 175 and stays there no matter what.
