Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi PF, Just want to know what you guys think of 997.2 Turbo S? There are actually not a lot of information about them vs Turbo. For example I can't find the official built numbers for them. From what I know 2000 were built worldwide and 500 of them are RHD but thats through other forums but nothing factual. Also from memory last two that got listed on carsales were asking for $279k white and black and both were relatively low mileage around 20k. What do you think the current rate is for a good example? Would they go up in value, considering the current 991 turbo S are around $400k mark? Thanks

Sold a 997.2 turbo a few months ago ($220,000).  An 'S' is of course rarer but pretty sure there were only 5000 ish gen 2 Turbos ever made. Gen 2 is blessed with PDK which makes it a great daily drive, but in terms of future values a manual car (I believe there a very few out there) will be the one to pick. They are insanely fast but driveable cars. I would be surprised if a quarter of all cars were RHD. The LHD market is so much bigger. However, at best, prices have slowed in depreciation. 997 cars and 991 cars will all follow the curve down in value. For a while 996's seemed to be pushing values up again, but I think that nonsense is over. Any buying around $250k would be good value, but I wouldn't expect this car to go up in value. Get a manual and look after it and you probably wont loose much though.

Hi TurboT, Thanks for your input. Yes I know that you sold your recently. and Manual is the way to go but I believe the TS is only available in PDK. The last 996 TurboS was sold I heard was $180k. So a 997.2 TTS should be about $270k mark? Depending on mileage..... What about the general consensus around a UK import turbo S? Seeing that the car is rare would that really affect the price? BTW did you do anything to your 997.2 ?? Tune, IPD, Exhaust?

POST 4Original post

I would suggest that any UK import will always be seen as inferior in the Aus market. No matter how rare. I don't agree with it, but that is what, at least the current market sees.

when I bought it it had a modified exhaust system that was a little much for the neighbourhood . It also voided the warentee on the car so I returned it to stock. you won't be able to import a UK car (unless you already own it) and watch out for rust on those that are already here

I'm talking I have a friend who is offering me his UK import turbo S that is here already here in aus. He bought it brand new and 1 year later he brought it back here so the car has spend more of the time outside of UK.

sounds like a good opportunity as long as you  factor in future value considering the UK heritage. Varies a bit but UK cars seem to fetch 20-30% less here, but don't feel that sorry for your mate as I'm sure he didn't pay $500k when new . $250 - 270k would be a good aussi car..

POST 8Original post

From what I understand PCA imported 20 997.2 TS and 5 of those went to NZ so 15 AU delivered. As well as more power the TS came with all available performance options such as torque vectoring, dynamic engine mounts, PCCB, sports chrono plus etc. etc. Yep PDK only. They are a great car and I don't think you would go wrong with one in the garage. A car that can run 10.9s for the 1/4 will always put a huge smile on your dial and make passengers scream like teenagers on a rollercoaster.

Thats true....but do you know what is the actual built number worldwide?? Well it all comes down to the condition and pricing....
