The fuel filter is probably as old as the car (although the car was serviced accordingly and i had the engine replace 20k miles ago due to the faulty cylinder wall issue).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 2006 C4S with 55k miles. For the past weeks, the car has felt sluggish, with the engine revving to 1.2k when it should be idling (At a red light) and sometimes i can smell what i think is sulfur. I was wondering if need a tune up or if something has gone wrong? By the way, what is included in a tune up? Spark plugs? Oil? Air filter? Cheers, Andrew

POST 2Original post

How old is the fuel filter? Some tuneups get it and some don't. Or your throttle body and throttle plate may have some build up of crud.

POST 3Original post

Are you getting a CEL? If it smells of sulfur, your air/fuel ratio may be out of synch. This would not be good for the cats, but should result in a fault code being thrown that you should be able to read. Could be the result of a failing O2 sensor.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No, im not getting a CEL. And the sulfur smell happens now and then, not all the time. The fuel filter is probably as old as the car (although the car was serviced accordingly and i had the engine replace 20k miles ago due to the faulty cylinder wall issue).

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
