Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that suspect a cause

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'litronics are the same' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'litronics are the same' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check with him' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Good day, all. I'm in the middle of doing a halogen to LED conversion on my 03 Base Boxster (same lights as the 996), using the RetrofitLabs kit. The first one is done and came out great. While disassembling the second one, I broke the black plastic ball that's attached to the back of the headlight bucket.
I'm going to try to plastic weld it back together today, but I'm not incredibly confident that will work.
If anyone has a headlight assembly lying around and is interested in selling it off or in parting it out, i'd be interested.
Thanks,
Tom C
Sure! A picture is attached. If you look inside the rear of the headlight assembly, on the inboard side (ie, the right side of the left headlight) it is the upper of the two plastic bits screwed to the back of the headlight bucket.
The ball snaps into a socket on the adjuster assembly.
Thanks. You're right it does not look the same. I ended up sourcing a new headlight assembly on eBay and extracted the part I needed from it!
If anyone needs any of the rest of the assembly (wiring harness, headlight bucket, etc), they will be available for a couple of weeks before I pitch it...
Does that piece look directional? Im pretty sure i need that lutronic part but for the drivers side. Its been a while since i rigged up my fix... l should check to see what i really need
The only data point I have is for the halogens, where left and right side are identical. Id suspect the Litronics are the same. The KISS principle applies.
