Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

But recall I disconnected the battery (positive) when installed the starter.
Leading evidence: 'Disconnect battery (positive)' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Disconnect battery' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Ok. Changed the starter.
Now all of a sudden when you start the car the spoiler goes up.
I manually cannot get it to go down with car on.
With car off I can get it to go down manually?
This is all new based on disconnect battery and changed starter.
Before this it worked perfectly. So is there something in the engine bay I need to reset or somewhere else. It never did this or throw the spoiler code at me ever.
Now I get the red spoiler bulb and the panel wording...
The easy thing is to disconnect the battery and short the two leads together. Give it a few minutes and then reconnect everything and see if that fixes the problem.
LOL. Disconnecting the battery and it should reset the ECU....but (I wouldn't) don't touch the ends together either though. Give it a go and let us know if it works.
Better method - just disconnect the negative battery lead and walk away (have a beer or two). Wait for 2 hours then reconnect. That should be enough time for all the capacitors to dissipate. Let us know how it goes. If that doesn't work, disconnect the battery overnight.
But recall I disconnected the battery (positive) when installed the starter.
Ok. Will do this in the AM and will report back.
(minus the beer too early)
I sometimes have a problem where my spoiler doesn't go up when I manually use the switch. I have a question about battery disconnect overnight, will that reset power seats with memory? Or locking car horn sound that comes on at times?
Ok did the negative 2 hour drain.
When i connected the battery the spolier went up a little:
I hit the down button until fully down. Then released. Then held down 20 sec
Ok if all have been following my posts throughout I was dealing with voltage drops.
Changed the starter and was gonna do the Y cable. Etc..
Anyway,.so now I had this spoiler problem. Today I started the car and it cranked slow again.
i had the battery replaced prior.
Guess what.....
The battery under 3 months old (Diehard Gold) HAS A BAD CELL! Got a new battery and it's like night and day!!
Let's hope the spoiler challenge is resolved with the reset of the battery too!
