Suggestion

I believe this should allow me to have the mirror point down when I put it in reverse and the mirror position is in the right selection (for changing the right side mirror).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I have an 08 997 C2S Cab with the full power seat package. I believe this should allow me to have the mirror point down when I put it in reverse and the mirror position is in the right selection (for changing the right side mirror). It does not do this. I did have an issue with the mirror when I got it as even manually it refused to move up or down (it did side to side) and spent 3 days at the dealer while Porsche Tech worked within to diagnose the problem. It now goes up and down manually, but still not auto down in reverse? Should it do this? I know my Cayman did with the premium package. Thanks, Mark

POST 3Original post

Thanks Madcow. I thought it should! Well I will schedule another appointment next week at the dealer as a piece of the clear bra film needs to be replaced because it is lifting. Thanks, Mark

POST 4Original post

Yeah it definitely should. As long as you have the full power seat package and the mirror selector on the right side it should pivot down when placed in reverse.

POST 5Original post

Yes, I have a 2005 C2 and it definitely goes down in the right mirror position.

POST 6Original post

Does the down tilting right mirror come w/ the power seats or the auto dimming mirrors?

POST 7Original post

Power seats, I don't have the dimming mirrors option and it works, just got done using it

POST 8Original post

This is the key. The mirror selector must be selected to the right passenger side view mirror.

POST 10Original post

I guess 3 visits was the charm that was going to make this get fixed. all is well now! Thanks everyone! Mark
