1999 Boxster will not start. I had to replace the ignition lock cylinder. I bought a used ignition assembly. I removed the lock cylinder and replaced it with the new, used, lock cylinder and key. I took the transmitter from my old key and installed in the new key. So now I will have to use the original key to manually open the door. How do you determine if the ignition switch or the immobilizer is causing the no start? In order to replace that switch, the front driver's seat has to be removed.

U send the key, immobilizer and dme to ecudoctor in fl. Pay the $99 health check fee and then go from there. Some scanners or maybe just the durametric can read if the signal is being sent. If not a pwis can probably see it.

Replaced the start switch and eliminated it as the cause of the no start. So the immobilizer is the cause of the no start. I had replaced the circuit board inside the key fob for the new for me , used key. I consulted with Autowerkes Inc, Huntington Beach, CA. The Owner said that I should have replaced just the key as there is a pill in the key fob that talks to the immobilizer. So I removed the new pill and replaced with the original pill in the key fob and the car started. Thanks for all your help, Stan
