Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Possibly but I'll have the camber adjusted once I have the tires and rims fitted.
Leading evidence: 'Adjust once i have the tires and rims fitted' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'most appropriate if we don't want' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust once i have the tires and rims fitted' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

A word of caution: I run 15mm spacers on the front and still get liner rub approaching full lock.

Suspected cause
The former pair of specs is probably the most appropriate if we don't want to mod liners but also don't want too thin of a sidewall in front.

Suggestion
I went from 285/30/18 to 275/35/18 and was worried the rear tires would look smaller in width ...I didnt know we could run 265
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Currently running stock suspension & wheels on my 01 C4 which are:
225/40 18 front
265/35 18 rear
I bought a set of 997 rims which are 8" (ET 57) width front & 11" rear (ET51). The offsets are slightly more aggressive then the stock 18" rims but will fit and work....I just need to know the size of tire I can run. Would a 295/30 rear & 235/35 front. I would like to use a 10 or 15mm spacer on the front to make it look more flush with the fender.
Thanks for the help!
Sorry 8" / 57mm front & 11" / 51mm rear are the offsets for the 997 rims. I wasn't planning on using any spacer in the rear but thought for the front I would use a 10mm or 15mm. This way they will be almost flush (maybe 1 or 2 mm sticking out). I need to make sure the ratio between front & rear are within 3% so I don't burn out the diff. but unclear how to figure it out?
OP - Those are the exact sizes I run on my 19s. Are your fenders rolled? A word of caution: I run 15mm spacers on the front and still get liner rub approaching full lock.
245/35 19 = 25.7" od
295/30 19 = 26" od
This size should work right? The ratio should be less then 3% and this (if I did my math correct) is .02%????
Tire rack said offset doesn't matter?
Ok you have less worry than when it comes to sizes. The four wheel drive is the issue. You need to make sure the ratio of rear to front is less then 3% otherwise you will burn out the diff.
1-235/35 and 295/30 are within 2%. 25.5/26=.9807. 235/35 is spec for the OE 19.
2-Offset does matter. 57’s on the 19’s are already 1/4” more inset (18’s are 50). Then, add another 1/2” of diameter. My front 19’s rub slightly at almost full lock with 15mm less inset than stock zero (with the spacers), so rubbing will be a concern on inside well.
245/35 actually matches with 285/30, and 255/35 with 295/30. The former pair of specs is probably the most appropriate if we don't want to mod liners but also don't want too thin of a sidewall in front.
Thanks for the reply's everyone. I'm not concerned to much with rubbing as I'm never really at full lock either way so that shouldn't be touch of an issue.
