If I tried to ask him a question he tended to get all annoyed and tell me I wasn't trusting enough, but then managed to shaft me over some little things, leaving me with a slightly bad taste in my mouth ('full' tank of petrol that turned out to be about a third, no attachment for the anti-theft wheelbolts, etc).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Outcome without a verified action link

After the debacle with the other dealer, this one was better but still not great.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

After my previous troubles with dodgy cars (see the 'imported car' thread below) I finally got myself the 996 of my dreams. It's a silver C4 coupe, 1999 T, with 18" turbo alloys, black interior, 3 spoke steering wheel, heated sports seats etc. I wish I could have afforded to get one from an OPC, but I just couldn't stretch that far. It's a lovely car - had a fantastic drive to see some friends over the weekend - but I have to say my experience with 'independent' dealers hasn't been great. After the debacle with the other dealer, this one was better but still not great. RSJ Sportscars in Slough has a great setup, good selection of cars etc but the guy who owns it is just a bit sharp for my liking. I've asked him to resolve this but have heard nothing back. I have to say I wouldn't recommend him to anyone else. That's got to be a false economy from his point of view I would have thought. He advertises in PP as well. So in summary FANTASTIC car, shame about the dealer.

POST 2Original post

Well S[ ]D the dealer and hope you get great pleasure from your new C4

POST 3Original post

Its the car you keep, not the dealer.... sounds like you have it the right way round to me.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes I agree - I get to keep the car and don't have to talk to the dealer
