Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Where do I buy a rebuilt 3.6 for my 2002 996 w/Tiptronic? I see there are certain guys to stay away from, but not a good list of reputable guys. I need to replace my 3.6 and I'm considering buying a motor and having my Indie rebuild it with the 3.8 pistons, etc. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

POST 2Original post

depending on the reason for your engine failure, you might be able to rebuild the one you have. I'd start with Jake Raby at Flat 6 Innovations. Here is the link. Flat 6 Innovations If your engine is beyond repair I'm sure he can help you find one.

Contact Don Weaver at EBS Racing in Reno. They did a great job on mine at a reasonable cost. EBS was written up in Autoweek two issues ago. Paul
