This is not a probability of success.

There was an issue with both the slave and master cylinders so the labour was a little higher than just replacing the clutch.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

For those that are interested, yesterday I had to have the clutch replaced in my car, so obviously while the gear box was out I had the IMS done as well. My car is a 2003 996 manual and has just clicked over 101,000 km.  The original bearing was in perfect condition. It was replaced with a LN Engineering bearing. Weltmeister did the work. I have kept it for a paper weight on my desk! Tim

Good move!  Make sure your log book is notated too!

POST 4Original post

Have mine (Boxster) in at the moment for the exact same thing - did not get that distance out of the clutch though (thanks to previous owner).

It wasn't cheap.  The IMS kit was $1200 + labour.  There was an issue with both the slave and master cylinders so the labour was a little higher than just replacing the clutch.  The clutch kit was about $1200 as well.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
