Suggestion
The fully electric 997 seats use a module/ECU in the seat base for lack of a better term (drivers not passenger) a basic set of switches can be fed a live and go straight to each motor making it mirror what you have at the moment in your 996.

Forgive me Parsley, electrics are not my strong point but I don’t understand how using other switches helps.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I would like to put a pair of 987 front seats in my 996.
The issue is my car only has electric recline but the newer seats are all electric and heated.
Anyone any experience with this type of retro fitting - 1/subframes to floor and 2/ coupling up electrics to ensure new seats fully functional?
Thanks.
The seats will bolt straight into the car, but you'll have a nightmare to the full functionality of the new seats working in the 996.
Realistically you can hope to get the electric recline and heating working without
too
much hassle.
Thank you for the response. The forward/back movement is probably the most critical to ensure working, can you give me some idea what the issue might be in trying to get it to work?
I found this guide useful :

Google "997 seats in 996" and you should find some useful information.
Good luck!
There is some info (and guide) on this on Rennlist I think.
The main problem on fitting the extra elec bits is down to the 997/987 having some complex circuit boards that need resoldering to get to work.

Save yourself a load of hassle and remove the seat switches and replace with ones off a Freelander or something similar. It's really simple to make the new switch block work and you will get all the functions. Passenger 997 seat is easy, it's the drivers one that's a pain.
Forgive me Parsley, electrics are not my strong point but I don’t understand how using other switches helps. Don’t the switches just complete the circuit?
The fully electric 997 seats use a module/ECU in the seat base for lack of a better term (drivers not passenger) a basic set of switches can be fed a live and go straight to each motor making it mirror what you have at the moment in your 996. Basically making it basic rather than a module control.
