Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Would you recommend having the jobs done before selling (£1,200 for spray job, £160 per alloy for refurb!) or just selling it at a lower price to the potential buyer?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys, I've got a 996 ('98) in Guards Red with a full GT3 kit (see picture). I've had the car for about 13 months now and I am looking to sell. The car however has corrosion on all Alloys and also paint chips to the bonnet and mirrors. Would you recommend having the jobs done before selling (£1,200 for spray job, £160 per alloy for refurb!) or just selling it at a lower price to the potential buyer? I love the car, but I miss having a convertable, I think I'm going to go back to a Boxster S! Sorry! Any advice would be appreciated, if you buy the car it will be even more appreciated! [ ] Shaun

POST 2Original post

If you want to get the best price for the car, then it needs to be presented in the best possible condition. However, the prices you are quoting may not be viable. Perhaps you should find out who is the best local 'Chips Away' type franchise and get a quote. Even OPCs use them for minor repairs.

POST 3Original post

My local guy is London based and excellent...Dan 07939 594008 or if you are out of London contact HO for your local mans info 01562 825599 www.chipsaway.co.uk Glad to see you are considering getting a full on sports car again [8D][8D]
