However this last use becoming more obselete each week as schoolchildren and various foreign sounding posters have developed the ability to talk using another orifice previously developed to expel spent fuel and gasses.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello marki, how are you? By "overdone" I mean it's a bit too much of a head turner; the style of the GT2 is IMO a bit more subtle and has more class than the very bulky turbo...

POST 4Original post

RUF (turbo-r?) is nicer IMHO. Oh that I was in a position to have the choice in the first place

POST 5Original post

The Turbo is less overdone! The GT2 has that black streak thing across the bonnet, lower front spoiler and all that. The spoiler at back looks bigger aswell!! Whats the big difference between the two anyway, other than a little horsepower?

POST 6Original post

I can understand people preferring narrow bodied RUF turbo cars (probably not in yellow!) as being 'less overdone' and 'more subtle' than wide arch turbo 911s. But the GT2, as ninja-eli points out, is 99% the same visually as the turbo model. If anything, as ninja says, it is more overdone because it has an additional air vent above the bumper, plus a fixed rear wing and lower front splitter. All they did was whack up the bhp a bit, put a 2WD transmission in and tweak the interior/exterior. To a layman, the GT2 looks the same as a 996 turbo. How is it 'less overdone' then Thom?

POST 7Original post

Hi Thom i am fine thanks , where have you been hiding ? i think the 993 Turbo beats both of them on looks , but then i also luv the Aero 8 for style

POST 8Original post

Then marki, you are clearly Seriously though I think the gt2 looks less subtle (more overdone) than the turbo. I figure Porsche would want it that way too, its the most extreme car, and IMHO it looks more extreme.

POST 9Original post

Ahh yes the GT2, had fun with one of these the other day - I pulled out of the car wash at the edge of town, and pulled up behind the GT2, we both then rocketed off up the slip roads onto the dual carraige way and then after a shortish distance we split up after a little wave from the driver. Didn't pull away from me though (in the 993 Turbo 408 vrs 460), but we only got up to about 100 mph, - I imagin the difference will be much more noticable after that or maybe he's still breaking it in. Great fun though scaring all the other cars - its if they where stationary compared to the 2 silver bullets!! (Yes I know v. irresponsible etc.).

POST 10Original post

good stuff Boss hog Mr Tony , i can not denie (wheres that spell check) it i am totally

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm on holidays now so I don't have as much time to be in your company as I'm away from my school I also have to spend some time on my car...some bits need a little look after I also agree that the 993 is better looking than both the current cars...but sorry gentlemen, I really think the GT2 looks more classy than the turbo: I agree they really look the same but the GT2 is longer and that's why it doesn't give the same "bulk effect" the turbo gives (and which I don't fully appreciate).

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

please leave marki alone, tony; he might be the only one around who likes the Aero 8, and I say welcome to original tastes

POST 13Original post

oooooooo I welcome original tastes to this forum. Doesn't mean I have to agree though does it? Still marki probably thinks I'm for not liking the aero. Still each to thier own. Personally I think owning an aero 8 would be like having a seriously cross eyed kelly brock as your girlfriend. Fantastic but not quite perfect...

POST 14Original post

ohhh YES PLEASE ,,,, perfection is boring its the imperfections that give anything character

POST 15Original post

sorry marki, now i really do think you are Still a kelly is better than no kelly i guess >> Edited by mr_tony on Friday 8th February 11:06

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK mr tony, still I'd rather be seen in an Aero 8 than in a MGF >> Edited by thom on Friday 8th February 11:07

POST 17Original post

Mr Tony ,,,, you were talking about Kelly Le Brock ,, i know she may be getting on a bit now but she is one seriously Babelicious woman

POST 18Original post

Maybe this should be my signature from now on

POST 19Original post

thom Hmm, aero is undoubtedly more desirable (expensive) than the MG, but IMHO not as good looking. Thats my opinion, and I'm too. Now shut yer cakehole and go drive your 80's VW. Peace and love guys As for marki cool sig! >> Edited by mr_tony on Friday 8th February 11:31

POST 21Original post

Good on you bosshog - you're not going out there to kill yourself or anyone else, and natural vivid and precise driving is certainly not irresponsible IMHO. Re looks, I don't think you can beat the 996 Turbo with standard wing. Not too showy and not too plain - hits the spot for me! Drove a demonstrator the other day and wish I could have one. The waiting list is too long, and you have to wonder why they don't step up production to meet the demand.

POST 22Original post

P.S. What is a cakehole? What is an Aero 8? What is a kelly? I know what an MGF is because I've driven one. Rather liked it too. Apologies for ignorance, but have had to give up television and newspapers since I started reading PistonHeads.

POST 23Original post

Afternoon McNab, Given that I'm working on a sunday (ouch) I can enlighten you 'cakehole' - mouth, as used by characters from the popular BBC Television 'drama' Eastenders... 'Aero 8' a new futuristic crosseyed car produced by those traditionalists Morgan. 'kelly le brock' - a very attractive young lady, who is famous for being good looking. She may have done something else worthy, but I'm not sure. And I'm glad you like the MG, it's not really a quick car, but it is fun to drive. Some recompense for working on a sunday morning is driving in with the roof down!

POST 24Original post

McNab, Please let me try and shed some light. What is a cakehole? This is a orifice in the human body, just under the nose. It can be used to install cakes and buns (fuel) into ones system. TVR drivers use it for pie insertion as well. Liquid fuel, such as beer and coffee can also be inserted - but tends to overflow if put in too quickly. Due to its highly skilled design the human body also uses the 'cakehole' or mouth (gobus continuous in the female form) to talk. However this last use becoming more obselete each week as schoolchildren and various foreign sounding posters have developed the ability to talk using another orifice previously developed to expel spent fuel and gasses. This will enable them to eat / drink and talk / expel at the same time whilst reading Max Power magazines. Unfortunately, it is unlikey that you or I will ever be able to develop the skill of talking out of our arses. What is an Aero 8? This is a large chocolate bar with bubbles in the centre. It can be found in in milk or mint flavours and there is a new version with metal replacing the original wooden structure - it looks very different and is not to everyones taste, often seen as linked to Malvern spring water (although the term 'spring' is often prefaced by 'cart'). What is a kelly? Not sure. R Kelly is a singer who thought he could fly, A Kelly ?? maybe linked to A Kylie which is quite vocal with somewhat attractive lines - ahh back to sports cars. Cheers, JSG.

POST 26Original post

JSG and mr tony, Thank you both for your help. I dimly recall the use of the term 'cakehole' in the armed forces. A navel expression I believe, and typical of the Senior Service's confusion over orifices. That will explain why they have Rear Admirals, who no doubt issue oders, sorry, orders, from the posterior... Yes, I had made the connection with Rowntree's aerated chocolate bar, for the very good reason that I invented it. It may interest you to know that I did so with the help of a well-known website, a lathe, a milling machine, 40 DIY books, and the co-operation of my schoolfriends. I was misled by the reference to the Aero 8 because I had no idea that Morgan, the wooden carmakers, had ever produced more than one model, far less eight (as would seem to be the case). As to Kelly, I give up. I see that you do not recommend further education in this context, and I thank you for your sensitivity - I would be unliKelly to succeed, never having had the good fortune to pursue an Irish lady. Or be pursued by one! I wonder, can Ted produce a smiley that leers?

POST 27 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have seen two of these in Porsche's salesroom in Paris yesterday...with stickers "sold"; they really look the business although the styling is not as overdone as on the turbo.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
