Haven't driven my 996T for a few months... been on trickle charger so not an issue... or so I thought Went to dust her off today and give her a little LTC and... nothing. Trickle charger had packed up and left the building Tried the fuse box trick - no joy Think.... all I need it 12V to the car and get the frunk open..... Luckily, I still have the cable connected to the battery to the trickle charger accessible. I connected the terminals to my motorbike battery and hey presto: I popped the frunk open and had access to jump start car with my other car. Left it running while I washed her and now have it connected to another charger I had. Gonna get a new battery - Bosch S4 010 - as this one is fooked: voltage was 1.2V when I measured All in all - result. Could have been worse - I could have away from home

Good result, especially as the charger lead gave you an easy 12V feed straight into the car. At 1.2V I’d regard that battery as finished rather than trying to recover it. Once a lead-acid battery has been that deeply discharged, even if it charges back up it’s unlikely to be trustworthy. Bosch S4 010 is a sensible replacement. I’d also bin the failed trickle charger and check the new one is actually maintaining around 12.7-13V at the battery after it’s been connected for a while. Could definitely have been a much bigger pain if it had happened away from home.
