Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just took delivery of my first Porsche and I needed to get into the compartment to get a fastener the previous owner had left loose in the trunk. But, for the life of me, I cannot remove that little torx screw holding it in place. It backs out to a point and then just spins. The passenger side has the screw but it's not fastened into the body - the whole assembly just pops into the hole in the shock tower. Does anyone have any tips on getting this thing apart? Just FYI, this is the part I'm talking about in the yellow circle. I'd also appreciate it if anyone can point me at the fastener for the battery cover at the red arrow. Thanks in advance.
It sounds like someone over tightened or broke loose the threaded insert. You may end up using a Dremel to cut head off bolt. As for the battery cover #11 is what you’re looking for. It’s a quarter turn fastener.

Same happened to me. One side was over tightened. You may be able to pry it out if you can get underneath the panel. Then its a simple matter to replace the insert.
That battery cover piece is exactly what fell in that space where I was trying to take off the cover. Had no idea what it was as it was loose in the bottom of the trunk. Based on the other side piece that I could see, I couldn't understand how all that worked. Looking at the drawing, it must be integral to #13. I'll order some new parts and get out the dremel. Thank you very much to you both.
This is the insert piece you will need to replace. Its mostly rubber with a brass threaded insert molded into the lower section. Might need a new screw also if they are seized together, which seems to be the case.
The screws are stuck in those nuts - I figured they were supposed to be in that bushing - so nice to see an original. Once I get that piece out, I'll clear the drains before buttoning it back up with new parts. Thanks everyone for all the information and help.
I used the Amazon version. Seems to work fine.

the rubber bellows out like a rivet beneath the hole when the screw is tightened. I just keep a little pressure on the plastic cover when turning the screw to keep it from spinning.
