Great write-up. I had a similar experience with a 911 I bought through Copart using AutoBidMaster. Mine had front-end damage that looked much worse in the auction photos than it actually turned out to be. The biggest surprise wasn't the repairs, it was how much time I spent researching the VIN before I even placed a bid. That VIN history probably saved me from bidding on a couple of other 911s that had been through multiple auctions. Since then, I've learned that the research before the auction is just as important as the rebuild itself. A few extra hours of due diligence can save you thousands later.
