Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

Yeah, its fairly easy. Just take the wheels off, unclip the metal spring the locks them in, and slide them out. Its a tight fit, but if you first compress the calipers , its not so bad. Lots and lots of wiggling to get them out.

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the response! What about the anti-squeal shims? - do these slide out along with the pads?

POST 3Original post

Err can't remember. They must do as I can't remember doing anythig different of than what I mentioned before.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Could someone please let me know how easy it is to change the front brake pads on a 993 turbo. I may need to do this myself this week before a track day on Friday. I had heard that the procedure should be quite quick, without the need for special tools - is this correct ? All advice appreciated!
