The only time I had an issue was when there was a core charge for a set of recon ATE brake calipers I'd ordered for my X5.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Evening All, Has anybody had any experience ordering parts from Autodoc. Looking like I need a secondary air pump and they have them in stock. The pumps are manufactured by a company called VEMO. Any one used VEMO parts? Matt

POST 2Original post

I've used Autodoc a fair few times. I tend to avoid the Ridex stuff which is there own line, and usually put things in my basket and let them sit for a while, as the discounts vary day by day. It's worth doing an AI search of the brand you are looking at to see what user's experience have been, and what brand the best oem match parts are or who the OEM manufacturer was e.g. Bosch, TRW etc

POST 3Original post

Quotes source post: 2823275

it's the modern challenge of where exactly are they made they are going to be coming from Asia, but are labelled with "designs and tested components in Germany" since Porsche have been locking down their parts supply network to 3rd party resellers as there are fewer and fewer actual manufacturing sites in Germany, not don't assume your Porsche OEM part was made in Germany or made for Porsche

POST 4Original post

I've made a few orders recently with Autodoc but for family members cars, not my 911. I highly recommend them, good selection of parts, quick delivery and good prices. For some reason, prices are even better when you order off their app.

POST 5Original post

I've used AutoDoc often in the past. They're an OK supplier, but I would recommend cross-checking compatibility with the OE part number. I got a set of Boxster rear discs when I was doing my brakes some years ago. This was partly my mistake as I tried to order without cross-referencing, but just take care that their search may return incompatible results.

POST 6Original post

Mixed experiences They take ages to send stuff, and up to a month if you send stuff back for a refund I have received items which were damaged in transit due to poor packing but also items which had been previously fitted and had been returned to autodoc by other's, I now use them as a last resort

POST 7Original post

FYI my SAI pump seized recently and blew the 40A fuse. It’s quite easy to take the pump apart and free it and get some grease into the bearings so that it works again. BUT the failure is probably down to the one way check valve connected deeper in the the engine bay which is harder to access without removing the alternator etc. if this valve isn’t replaced your new SAI will fail again as moisture & heat makes it way into the pump. The SAI isn’t really needed as its purpose is to pump air into the exhaust on startup for about 90secs to improve emissions then it turns off. For an MOT the emissions are tested when the engine is so the SAI doesn’t affect it. If it’s not working you will have 2 fault messages when you connect to OBD2. The SAI can be removed to clean up the engine bay about 1kg weight saving but that might generate a CEL that you will need to get coded out.

POST 8Original post

I use Autodoc all the time. I have a Ridex starter motor and Ridex Aircon Compressor, both are fine. My alternator packed up Friday night and I should have a Ridex one being delivered tomorrow for £105 all in.

POST 10Original post

Used Autodoc a lot over the last 8 years or so. Pricing can be better on the App. I had an order of 4 glow plugs for the other half's Golf and I emailed them to note that they'd fallen out their individual boxes in transit, and they just sent me a £10 credit. It does take several days to get to the UK as they are shipping from mainland Europe, but no issues with VAT or Customs, so OK for planned work, not for quick fixes. On aftermarket brands I've been building up a record of who supplier Porsche's OE parts, such as TRM for steering and suspension arms, Sachs for top mounts and clutches, BERU for plugs and coil packs, Bosch for a lot of sensors, VDO for fuel pumps etc.

POST 11Original post

Also had a couple of compatibility issues with Autodoc stuff but on the whole pretty good value.

POST 12Original post

Ordered Sunday, arrived just now (Tuesday 11am). 150A instead of the original 120A. I got price wrong, was actually £105 + £8 delivery.

POST 13Original post

I've used them for my 911 and other cars and found them to be really good. Quick delivery on most things and a good selection of different brands and price ranges; as others have said its worth cross referencing part numbers with D911 diagrams to ensure you get the right version of a part as they can be nuanced. The only time I had an issue was when there was a core charge for a set of recon ATE brake calipers I'd ordered for my X5. I sent the old ones back to get my core charge refunded, but they just turned up on my doorstep 2 weeks later as they did not make it back to Autodoc through customs. After lots of faffing in the end I just had to eat the cost and took the old calipers to the tip! Not Autodoc's fault but something to bear in mind if you are buying components with core charges in lieu of the return of the original used parts.

POST 14Original post

I'm used them too for a while - sadly i bought an HVAC dash fan/blower for my Cayenne, they confirmed it'll fit... fit it all and just make sure before i button everything up and it blows the wrong way. Upon removal the fan blades on end go the wrong way as does the rotation. so blows inwards as such. And before someone say reverse the polarity, you cant as it has an inbuilt regulator... They've approved the return which went today and now await 3-4 weeks for my money back.... So i have my cayenne in bits with all this lovely hot weather and no aircon - excuse to get the beetle out i guess....

POST 15Original post

Used them a lot over the years for all different makes of cars, never had an issue. I’ve not tried their own brand stuff so I can’t comment on that. Also bought some Hazet tools, been happy with them, all been of a good quality.
