There is no reading on the dash voltmeter so thats probably the fault.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I haven't used my car for 6 days and normally the unlocking procedure works ok, however today when I turn the ignition on all the lights come on but it wont turn over, just a clicking noise. The battery has been ok but I haven't checked it fully yet. Also the alarm is going off sometimes after I relock it . Could this be an immobiliser problem? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks Mike

POST 2Original post

Sounds very much like the battery has died. Low voltage causes all sorts of electrical gremlins to appear. What does it read on the voltmeter with the ignition on? I would suggest putting it on a charger and see if you can get some life into it.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

There is no reading on the dash voltmeter so thats probably the fault. I will charge the battery now. thanks Mike

POST 4Original post

Almost dead battery, probably needs replacimg if you drive it 6 days ago.

POST 5Original post

Same happened on my 996T which was on a ctek. Battery just suddenly wouldn't start an lit up the dash.

POST 6Original post

i would remove the battery and run it through a reconditioning cycle - 6 days is pretty short time to go flat at next service have the battery drain checked with different alarm status settings

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The battery only had 6 volts on it when I tested it, so I currently have it on charge and will see if that solves the problem if it fully charges. Mike

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Battery now fully charged and car started first time. I think I will now renew the battery as this one is 3.5 years old. Any recommendations? The current battery is a Bosch S4 008 - 74Ah. Thanks Mike
