This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

2 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hay Guy's Recently bought a 996 MK2 Meridian Metallic. With engine problems. Did a diagnose with the an endoscope and it has bore score at cylinder 4 5 6. Can't wait to repair it. but it had some other probelem's the roof didn't work. Changed the computer and it started to work. The old computer was hanging loos in that area. After a few attemps it worked propperly en open and closed perfectly. Then I tried it with the Key open went good. But when I closed it, the hooklatch engaged and directly opens and closes again and open. When i stop at the right moment I can only operate the front window. So it is still in open modus. Has some one the same problem before? and maybe an sollution. Thx in advance

POST 2Original post

There is a black plastic cover that goes over the latch that hooks into the receiver in the windshield. That plastic cover, part number 996 561 787 01 has a little tip on it and its missing or broken on yours That extra 2mm of plastic at the end is needed to push the microswitch that tells the computer that your top is fully engaged. When you order one, do yourself a favor and buy two. Also, just break off the upper part and glue in place.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank's for you Quick respond. First thing in the morning, I gonne check on that one. The missing part may be still in the car I gonne buy 2 two of them on monday

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
