Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I got P0431, P0456, and P0455 CEL codes. P0431 - Warm up catalyst efficiency below threshold P0456 - Evaporative emission system leak detected (very small leak) P0455 - Evaporative emission system leak detected (very large leak) I've seen a lot of people with these code unnecessarily replace their catalytic converters or dump a bunch of money into trying to solve them and still have the CEL come on mere days later. Thoughts and opinions on how to troubleshoot these are much appreciated. Thinking of starting off by swapping the O2 sensors or replacing them and seeing if it makes a difference '05 Boxster with 169,000 miles, have had the codes for awhile and haven't noticed any difference in the car, runs great, just find them annoying/wanna fix them if something is wrong to prevent future wear and tear
