Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My C4S has developed an Engine Check light issue in the last week. Having read the code, it refers to the lambda sensor, so was just wondering how difficult this would be to replace them myself, or whether it's better to take it to a specialist? Do they tend to be hard to access and/or hard to remove given that they sit in the exhaust pipe? The car is running absolutely fine, even with the light showing. I have cancelled the code and the light stays off for 50 miles or so, but then it's back on again with the same error code, so I really want to sort it properly. Thanks, Phil

POST 2Original post

Does the code specifically refer to the lambda sensor, as I had a similar situation but with a running lean error and I thought was the same, but it turned out to be the air oil separator ? Also, I seem to recall that the chap I take mine to advised that you really need to take the rear bumper off to get the sensors out and that they can be a bugger to remove, sometimes needing to be heated. Let us know how you get on if you do replace them yourself.
