I'm new here; purchased my 986 nearly a month ago and I must say I won't own anything other than or less than my 986 ever again. It's an amazing machine. I'm sure someone will take me to school so I'm prepared for the lesson - this said...I purchased these wheels for 500 bucks. I posted them asking, "what are these" I received one response about "champion" but I've run across "cargraphic" which looks so close to these but I just don't know. They are 19's, rear's are massive. I attempted to measure them prior to mounting test tires, "pictured" and either I read it wrong or it was nearly 14 inches of width on the rear wheels. Lip looks to be about 3.p on the rear. I don't know what the offset is but I used 20mm spacer on the rear which gives the look you see. Now this is the strange part; I sort of like this look. Car rides as if it's still on the factory 17's. It's really close up front with the 235/35 but it's goes really straight although I'll admit it feel a bit lose driving in the rain. Rear tires are 285/30/19. I read that 19's aren't recommended for use on the 986, any truth to this? I also added one of those Ebay exhaust cat back mufflers the other day and for under 270 bucks, it really added the tone I sort of wanted to hear. I've just been driving around now just to hear the exhaust note. Didn't remove the rear bumper either. Sprayed all the parts I needed to disconnect the night before and every things pretty much slipped apart with a little effort. I have a new Avic 7100NEX with the suncoast double din install kit of which I'll tackle the next full Saturday I have off. I'm really green here and this Porsche Boxster is an entire new and exciting experience for me. While in Germany back in 1995, a friend had a 928; V8 car of which he allowed me to drive. After driving that car for nearly 20 minutes and feeling it's power I was sold but haven't been able to obtain such a machine until now. No more SLK's for me, I've found my sweet spot but I welcome insight and do's and don't but I must admit again, I like the way these massive wheels look on my car. I'll switch back to the 17's in the fall but I'll clean up the 19's and acquire brand new tires for the summer of 2017 so to ride wide again. Looking forward to hearing from you all. Please have a look at my pictures.
