Choose your paint shop with care; I had damage repaired on an Audi of a similar colour and the NRMA-recommended crew fucked the paint match up and had to re-do it.

Red and Yellow are monsters to colour match, I cannot stress enough that you must discuss this upfront with your choice of repair centre.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

And this is what I come back to.... (f***ing scumbags): My son not very impressed that someone damaged 'his' Porsche: So what is the best course of action here? I've got comprehensive insurance, how many thousands is this little lot worth?

POST 2Original post

What a disgrace. That looks like like an expensive repair. Choose your paint shop with care; I had damage repaired on an Audi of a similar colour and the NRMA-recommended crew fucked the paint match up and had to re-do it. so sorry to see this, you must be livid.

POST 3Original post

What is wrong with people?? It's hard to have nice things in life ... this is one of the reasons I don't take my air cooled to shopping centres .. I'm sorry this happened ... any video cameras looking over the carpark??

POST 4Original post

There's some crap people in the world. Just be happy you're not one of them. Looks expensive to me - scratches down to the metal. Many thousands.

POST 6Original post

Report it to police as my insurance asked for a police report for a similar incident

POST 7Original post

fuckers looks like a few swipes with a screwdriver. Take it to Ron Goodman.

POST 8Original post

I'm furious - And its not even my car Whether deliberate or not it typifies the scum of our earth

POST 10Original post

From your first photo I thought someone doored and did a runner which is bad enough. But then I had a closer look at the other photos... That is really piss poor! Second the suggestion to report to the police and look for CCTV.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm just thankful it wasn't the GT3, as I parked it in the same spot a week ago for 10 mins. I've reported it to police, and insurance. I'm totally fuming, but end of the day, its done now. I just need to figure out the best course of action to fix it ... any decent Porsche repairers in Sydney?

POST 13Original post

Pricks. I'm really sorry to hear about this total scumbag move which got pulled on your car Which car park was this? (I'm a Sydneysider too)

POST 14Original post

Quotes source post: 262366

Strongly suggest pulling the dent as best possible - Would avoid a new panel at all costs even though some panel shops may encourage it

POST 15Original post

Sorry to see it mate .. a good panel beater will get that dent out .. the paint another story

POST 16Original post

Bastards was it a Ute with a tray or two bar that hit it? Any cctv? i would be back for a few nights looking for potential perpetrators, you might find paint rubs

POST 17Original post

Some scum around, luckily not metallic paint so easier to paint. Still a shit though!

POST 19Original post

Jump on their f.....g head if you find them ? ?

POST 20Original post

Absolutely feel for you, that sucks. My car has been hit twice in the last couple months both times parked outside my house. Shits me up the wall

POST 21Original post

If you get the choice go with Charlie Battisti.  When they fixed my BMW it was perfect.  Not even a couple of professional car inspectors twigged and asked me about a crash

POST 22Original post

That's awful that someone could do that and knowingly drive off. What a disgrace. Hope there's CCTV that can track them down!

POST 23Original post

Poor form indeed. I had experience with matching a yellow car. It has to be blended into the next panel or it looks like a checker board. You have the right attitude. Well done.

POST 24Original post

Honestly, hew things make me angrier than this. Some people are FITH. There's a good chance the shopping centre will have CCTV footage so it might be worth looking into. Good luck with the repairs mate.

POST 25Original post

Grrrrr that's not cool! Hurts to see At least it's fixable though.

POST 26Original post

Definitely worth paying your excess for that repair. Bumper, tail lights and window rubbers need to come out to do it properly. If you get choice of repairer, Ron Goodman is a good bet. He needs to pay for another race car

POST 28Original post

The Kid says Mate I feel for you, that sucks. I haven't finished the resto on the HERETIC and recently some stoner in a Kombi backed into it! Its now back at Skunkwerks to get repaired. Stoner had no insurance and surprise surprise is skint!

Take out a lein on the kombi.

POST 32Original post

In reality the dent is not the issue the guy I use would get that out easily. Its the paint thats hard to tell from the photo's. Red and Yellow are monsters to colour match, I cannot stress enough that you must discuss this upfront with your choice of repair centre. Previous comments about blending down the side of the car are pretty spot on.

Dent is probably the same height as the lower front corner of one of these small style trolleys with a bit of force used. Some people are just c@#ts!

POST 34 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It was likely a ute (or a trolley). You can't see it in the photos, but there is a very faint silver/grey transfer in part of the dent. Just an update, there is no CCTV footage. It was parked in a council car park while I ate Thai, only took the car because my son asked to go in the Porsche whilst meeting the wife and the rest of the kids there. For those who asked me where it happened I'd rather not say as I don't want to perpetuate stereotypes, however I've parked this car in that car park probably 50 times over the 3 years I daily drove the vehicle with no problems. In looking at the dent closely it doesn't appear to be inflicted with a screwdriver or a hammer or anything like that, there is a definite colour transfer rub, so it is much more likely that it was just some git who backed into the car, got out, saw what it was, and got the hell out of there. Doesn't make it any less of a dog act imo. I've got choice of repairer so I'll start those enquiries tomorrow. Thanks everyone for the condolences! Thankfully it is just a car, and not something to lose sleep over (although I did wake up the morning after FUMING ? ).

POST 35Original post

Scum. In my book, you stuff up you front up and take your lumps, me included. Hope it works out ok for you, with the right repairer it'll be 99.99 good as new

POST 38Original post

I feel your pain my friend ........why are people just such Shit these days ..........I hope the repairs go well ,,,,,very frustrating to see damage done like that to such a unique car ,,,just out of spite ,,,,A HOLES

POST 39Original post

Quotes source post: 262686

IMHO, There’s definately a level of frustration/envy/hate in some people for what they don’t have & therefore how dare you have it. How hard you toiled to achieve really doesn’t come into their thinking. Personal opinion, of course.

POST 40 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Went and spoke with Ron today, put my mind at ease about the repair. Some serious metal in that workshop!

Tough shit, take his kombi and sell it to cover repairs. If he can afford weed and petrol, he can afford to throw you a few dollars. Wanker
