Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi i have a problem with the windscreen wipers after they have been on for about 10-15 minutes they stop working, if i pull stalk forward for wash wiper mode it will work, but still not on continuous. After about an hour they will start working again for short time and then stop again. Will this fault show up on diagnostic if plugged in, or is there a relay?

POST 2Original post

Does it happen on both continuous and intermittent? i.e. up and down on the stalk?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi James yes it does intermittent only works for about the same time but screen wash works all the time.

POST 4Original post

Hi Jeremy I don’t think this type of issue will show up on the diagnostic equipment. As far as I’m aware there is only one relay for the wipers this is the intermittent wiper control relay I would change that in the first instance. I doubt very much it’s the wiper motor as when using the wash wipe it’s ok. Looking at the wiring diagram it looks like the wiper motor neutrals go through the intermittent wiper control so changing that relay may solve things, apparently it’s located above the footwell fusebox relay No16. see link. https://www.renntech.org/...17215-relay-locations/ failing that I would talk to an auto electrician. good luck Andy

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Andy its in for discs and pads at moment but will order a relay and try that. Jeremy
