Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

My C2's failed in 2012 and Porsche replaced the entire engine (years prior to me buying the car).
Leading evidence: 'Replace entire engine (years prior' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So to celebrate the receipt of my 996 cab after an agonizing month, I'm thinking I want to buy a personal plate. I know some people will always say, "personal plates will be easy to remember for cops" but come on, its a 911. Theres no blending in lol.
Just wondering what the general consensus is on personal plates. Stupid? Funny? Douchey?
Welcome back krazyk there is a thread you're involved and they are waiting for your answer

You are 100% right
I can assure you I am a different KrazyK lol. The only similarity between us other than our usernames is both cars had an IMSB failure.
My C2's failed in 2012 and Porsche replaced the entire engine (years prior to me buying the car). I however had the unfortunate luck of having the transmission literally turn to slush within 20 days of buying the car

PORSC911 - Meh. Anyone who knows what that means already knows what it is.
RPH 911 (I'm a pharmacist, hence the RPH) - so 95% of the population will sit behind you trying to figure it out.
996 CAB - That same 95% will wonder why your car looks nothing like other taxis.
DAS 911 - Meh.
I thought I had a handle on how few people would get "5CHN3LL" - but I am amazed at how few Porsche people understand it. "5CHN3LL" has helped me realize I am not as clever as I once thought.
Another 911 owner announced that she had cracked the mysterious code of my plate during a cruise: "5 channel thrill!"
Wut? NO.
I guess I could claim "5-chain thrill" and hope that maybe Jake Raby or Ashai might see the plate.
Pretty much the only really useful thing the personalized plates have done: ensure that Cuda and I know when we're both at the same events.
I've had
DARK 9
for years. 1) for my obsession with Batman. 2) also made sense on a black 911. Now I see so many different versions of
DARK Knight
on cars I'm thinking of going back to a regular plate.
years ago i saw a plate: 3M TA3
when you look in your rear view mirror it reads "EAT ME"
....of course with no front license plate it would render useless
I see nothing wrong a personal plate but I've never been a big fan of plates that plainly state the obvious "PORSCHE" "911" "911 TRBO" "CARRERA" (no offense to anyone with one of these plates).
Kitschy and creative model references are an exception in my book because they require more than 1 sec of thought. For example, "GT GT GT" on a GT3.
As for levels of creativity, just also keep in mind that people will misinterpret anything that requires more than 1 second of thought. lol
- People will assume the "DAS" in "DAS 911" is a references to your initials or something different than what you intend.
- Most people will have no idea what RPH means.
- Most people will have no idea what 996 means. If you don't care that most people will have no clue that a 996 is a factory designation for your model 911 then keep it in mind. If you do care then I'd toss out any options with a "996" reference.
If you want to keep to the model theme, combining some of the thoughts in the thread, something like "RX 911." RX will go over some people's heads but do you really care? lol
Someone posted a ZAFTIG plate. I've always liked it on a wide body car -- almost did that with my C4S, actually, but even with that, you'd be surprised how many people have never heard the term.
At the end of the day, it's your car. Enjoy it however you like. If adding a vanity plate will make you happy then ignore the naysayers and just get one you like!

Since the car spent most of its time at the mechanic with the 30 day tags on it I hardly noticed that the plate I had was already pretty appropriate since I'm now a member. Haha

I personally enjoy seeing debadged cars that have "911" or "CARRERA" or some permutation thereof on the plate. It means that someone spent the time to debadge the car, and then spent the money to put the badge on the license plate instead.
Wut?
