I don’t think it’s just down to production issues with deliveries...there are currently 145 Approved Used 992’s on the websites....so each OPC has 4 or 5...plus demo’s and new cars coming through.

The simple answer is yes......well probably.
I managed to get about £1200.00 off a lightly optioned base Cayman in 2015 from Silverstone.
I literally said 'to save me having to speak to half a dozen other centres and see what they give me, can you just offer me something'.
I signed the order contract 10 mins later!!

Times are really tough out there.. keep an eye on stock cars they have a the moment. NOTHING is shifting. Definitely discounts to be had. Not on GT models, probably too soon for 911 as you will always have ppl too keen to get one at the beginning.. but discounts do happen.
I was offered 18way seats on cars before, and negotiated down used cars prices sharply.
I think if the economy keeps heading for a slowdown you can expect more of this.
Back in December i got a 991.2 GTS reduced from £103,995 to £100,000. At the beginning of the month they only offer £500 off then around the 19th i asked them if i bought the car before the end of the year would they take £100,000, they agreed. You have nothing to loose buy asking just offer something reasonably sensible. Good luck

On a second hand car at £60k most OPCs seem “unable” to offer anything more than £1500. On new there will be a lot more they can do.
That’s probably true given profit margins post prep and allocation of fixed costs etc. If you take finance and catch them at quarter end maybe more as they have performance hurdles to reach both for Porsche GB and also if they’re part of one of the big franchise.

£2000 off a macan S in april.
Am in the market for a Macan Turbo some time in the coming weeks. No immediate urgency.
There seem to be quite a lot of stock cars available, and I was previously told by the only OPC I spoke with that I'd get an un-repeatedly good deal on one if I took delivery before the end of last year. However I'm not in that much of a hurry and am still deciding whether to go stock or to spec one.
Before I start calling around dealers can anyone tell me what kind of deal I'm likely to get for a stock car and for something I spec myself?
Also I assume the best time to be calling is at the end of the month or end of the quarter?
Thanks everyone. Really appreciate it.

I was offered £3k off a stock Macan Turbo.
I got a discount on a factory order 718 Cayman from my local OPC, Colchester. I'd never bought anything from 'em before, so no existing relationship as such. I had no trade in and took their finance. In advance, I wrote down exactly what I wanted spec wise and in terms of the number; I factored in an optimistic 10% discount. Walked in at 5pm on the last Monday of the month; gave my scribbled "deal" to the Sales Exec (who had lent me a couple of cars) and said I'm ready to buy the car now. Initially he dimissed the offer, but he took it to the Sales Manager and eventualy we settled on just under 8%. Previously they said no more than 2%.
Not saying I'm a brilliant negotiator. Likely more lucky timing, but if you don't ask.

Took delivery of Cayenne last week of Dec - OPC east london - but i also visited colchester, hatfield.
All had loads of stock on forecourt, literally awash with pre-regs.
Times are bad, 992 were going for £12k discount, but i only manage to haggle about £6000 off mine plus some freebies. Others got a lot more if you browse the forum Dec entries.
It is like they are selling Fiat's in 1990! Pre-registered cars are abound and discounts on pre reg easily obtained. This includes recently launched cars such as Macan Turbo and 911. There is even marketing activity advertising "pre registration" event with great savings!
For the best deals it is advisable to avoid the used cars that may have been bought at a high cost and the dealers may be reluctant to take the hit. The fresher used car stock will have been bought 'aggressively' leaving more room for the dealer to deal. But the really big discounts are on the new and Pre Reg stock and there is a LOT of product available to chose from.
I finding it incredible that Porsche have got themselves into this position. Dropping their high selling diesels will have had an impact, and over producing cars such as the prime profit generator 911 is shocking. The market 'adjusted' in 2009 and Porsche managed to maintain their premium stance in the market..... they lowered production numbers, and maintained the long term value in the brand and product.
The lesson is clear from BMW & Mercedes who adopted deep discounts and distress selling years ago - it builds sales volumes. Is this the driving strategy of Porsche?

Nope, but I suspect it is the strategy of VAG to pay for all the fines and costs to focus on building EV's.

You only have to look at discounts on M5 ,X3/4Ms ,M3/4s to see what happens when you start discounting it then just becomes the norm and nobody will buy at list!

Exactly right. Then huge 'deposit contributions and nobody has any idea what the actual value of the cars is. Confidence disappears... as do sales.

Oh dear. Is this a shift to VAG group strategy ? I sincerely hope not.
I remember the days when you paid extra for a radio in a BMW and then they started chasing volume. Now look at them, can't give the things away. Porsche are heading in the same direction.

I think it’s a bit of a confluence of factors.
The diesel SUV’s were by far the biggest selling models, probably 50% of buyers want diesel so it’s a massive problem for them. That and a specced Cayenne S is not £90k which is a sneaky £10k more than the old car.
992 - Probably at every OPC the first three months of sales were to long standing clients who have probably had an early example of the new 911....either just because or to keep them up the GT list. Those cars were all run for six months and then went back to the OPC”s to find another home so loads of AUC cars around. That and the marmite nature of 992....some people love it buy plenty don’t and I really think the GPF exhaust is a massive thing. Nobody needs a new 911....they have to want it. I heard my OPC’s two demo’s before their launch event idling in the storage car park....and was decidedly unimpressed. Noise is a big part of the want! If it sounded fantastic and was a bit more involving I’d have one on the drive....but I don’t.
Macan - too similar to the old one....a few styling tweaks but not enough to make you do the deal.
718 - Marmite engine.
Build quality...the current cars are not as good as the previous ones in my opinion. VW accountants definitely been at work.
They have gone from having an outstanding range of cars say four years ago before the 718 was launched to a range of cars that don’t really seem better than the cars they replaced in enough ways to make people want to buy one. My Cayenne S Diesel is three years old with 50k miles on it...great car I don’t want a petrol so I will keep running it. If they did Diesel I’d have one!

Surely if you can buy a car for less money that's a good thing.
Nuttcase said:

annoying thing is that 992s were certainly shifting for £12k below but these are pre-regs, so not customised exactly to my ideal.
Why can't they give the same dealer contribution for the pre-ordered??
Obviously from above, there must still be a greater profit margin despite whatever contribution offered.

Might buy for less but it’ll cost you more to own....probably.
5-10% is absolutely possible. It all depends on what they need to shift to hit their finance / model targets quarterly and annually. Same applies to stock that is sticking - new or used.
There are several dealers looking to shift additional Macans and I know PC Cambridge are doing looking to do deals, because they've just sent me an e-mail saying so. Speak to Scott Riley. I bought my 991.1S from him and my neighbour has just had a 992S off him - so I know he's a top bloke and will be honest about what he can and can't do. Obviously you have to play the game and if you go in stupidly low, they won't take you seriously, but put a spec together as others have done on here and ask what can be done if you were to place an order and 10% deposit on that day. If you don't get enough movement then go and try another dealer as they make need the sale more badly, but I've had some great success by being nice, asking tough questions with a smile and following it up with a handshake. These days, the huge commissions on finance make it even easier to get deals and contributions, but there is nothing as satisfying as just sticking it on your debit card ....

i've definitely seen 10%off in run up to Xmas at east london OPC, for 992s but these are stock which i presume they were desperate to shift to meet end yr targets. Slightly less than that on my cayenne, but freebies thrown in to seal the deal. The showrm was buzzing in there, loads of folks from canary wharf up the road with end yr bonuses. 16shifted on day i took delivery.
Anyone managed a discount on the Taycan?
They don't seem to be selling too well and the dealers I made early enquiries with are calling me up saying they still have allocations!

not sure about the Taycan, they are certainly still talking it up at this point.
we visited OPCs at hatfield, cambridge, east london. Macan 3 years ago & now cayenne and there's always the initial snub to discounts. For all three, as always, keep cordial, polite & mention the discount that the other sites have offered you & walk away.
I've always had call backs from the above & eventually reach 5-8% by playing one off vs another. Times are hard, there's certainly distress selling.

I think they’ve had some drop outs....I was called last week to be told my OPC has two Turbo S slots for April....and 4S around the age time. previous info was Turbo S was sold out into next year. They don’t need discounts though...the tax incentives if you can use them a Taycan a cheap car.
Porsche supply has been all over the place for the last two years. After a year of next to nothing. UK dealers suddenly get a unexpected allocation of Macan Turbos, Boxster/Cayman, Cayenne, and Panamera. Nearly all of weighted down with a heavy options list. In our group averaged out about 4 cars per centre.
Porsche UK then incentivise dealers to pre-register a certain amount and if they do they get a higher Taycan allocation. Taycan is what dealers want, so they happily obliged.
So yes, if it’s any of the above and you don’t mind what options you have there are deals out there. However, there won’t be any left by the end of next month and unless it’s something like a Panamera or high spec Cayenne you won’t be getting much of a deal once they’re gone.
Our Taycan order book is filled for almost a year and will likely increase once people see it in the metal next month.

I think its the other way round for the Taycan Nelson! Many have cancelled after seeing it as its a small car with a not so good range. I know 6 people who had deposits but have backed out now!
I've had a £5k deposit on a Taycan Turbo since launch day last year.A couple of weeks ago my OPC phoned me to say that they'd just been informed by Porsche AG to expect a 12 week delay on deliveries..They don't expect Taycan Turbos until 4th Qr 2020 and 4Ss 3rd Qr..I've switched to the 4S with the bigger Performance plus battery which is more than fast enough..

I've configured my upcoming 4S with the Performance plus battery and 20'' wheels to get the longest range possible..Fitting the bigger 21'' wheels on a Taycan really hammers the range so avoid at all costs IMO..

A friend and I were told at the UK launch event in London last December to expect 180miles on a 4S (with performance battery plus) in the winter and not much more. Summer will see around 210 miles at a max. This was from a Porsche GB employee who tested the cars in Malaga last year.

It’s only an inch shorter than the Panamera. They were averaging 210-220 miles range despite being absolutely hammered all day in Majorca. I’d be surprised if many people dip below 190 in the first year of ownership on a new battery.

The Taycan 4S had an ultra rare 5 star rating from Andrew Frankel in Autocar who's as much a Porsche enthusiast as anyone..He thought long and hard before awarding it, and even asked for a second opinion from the Editor..This speaks volumes and why i switched my order from Turbo to the 4S..
I'm very convinced when people see and sit in them on the launch events demand will increase..It'll make a great daily and a perfect partner to the polar opposite NA Porsche sports cars..Another big plus is the sense of pride when driving through a busy congested city with awful air quality with the knowledge you're not contributing to it..Social conscience will become the new norm while city polluters will be treated with contempt..

I've been told most of the components are made by elves in a secret factory in the North Pole. Then delivered by a flying sled drawn by reindeers with a white bearded man wearing a red suit driving..Can't imagine what gave Porsche that idea but sounds really ground breaking and original.
Apparently this factory is usually shut from Xmas to Autumn so seems like a very shrewd move for both parties.

So, one assumes the original purchaser would have lost his deposit - which at this stage would have been 10% of invoice price - so OPC would still be getting full purchase price. So not really a discount as far as OPC concerned. playing with words maybe but this does not indicate that "times are bad" simply a desire to shift pre-specced stock
PrancingHorses said:
There are a choice of 5 cars available - times are still bad lol
That may paint a different picture but last year was a nightmare for deliveries as many models were suspended from sale for a considerable time due to emissions testing. I understand that OPC's then had to try and make up for these earlier "lost" sales and were in a position of having to take a significant number of vehicles as "stock". This was a very unusual situation since the majority of Porsches are built to order. It was inevitable I guess that some of these "stock" cars would hang around for a while and I suspect that this has given rise to a small number of cars now being available with discount. Porsche had a record sales year last year so I would argue that times are not that bad !!

Pretty much every manufacturer has recorded a record sales year every year for the last 5 to 10 years. The difference is last year Porsche at least in the UK has to pre-register or discount cars to get them sold. You just have to look at the number of delivery mileage cars available across the whole range to see that they are having trouble shifting cars. I don’t think it’s just down to production issues with deliveries...there are currently 145 Approved Used 992’s on the websites....so each OPC has 4 or 5...plus demo’s and new cars coming through. That’s a lot for such a new 911 which hasn’t even been on sale for a year.
Two years ago the two biggest selling cars in the range were the Macan Diesel and the Cayenne Diesel....that’s one of the big reasons why they have so many Macan’s and Cayenne’s to sell....petrol 4x4’s just aren’t as popular.

I think its the other way round for the Taycan Nelson! Many have cancelled after seeing it as its a small car with a not so good range. I know 6 people who had deposits but have backed out now!
Agreed. I cancelled my Turbo S order this week. OPC wanted £15,000 non-refundable to lock in my spec but couldn’t give me a build date. I’m not paying that for a car I haven’t even seen or driven yet.
amongst other things, the ever increasing production delays and total lack of fast charging infrastructure in the UK are killing the Taycan for me.

The key words there are “took their finance” - that’s the route to a discount.

It’s called “finance contribution” which is not available to cash buyers.
Err.. You can obtain a dealer contribution with a cash purchase

That would be called “dealer contribution” which is separate from “finance contribution” which can only be accessed by using the dealer finance package. HTH.

The last time I bought a car there was a pretty straightforward conversation. “If you take finance we’ll give you £x discount” . The only condition was that I couldn’t pay off the finance within a month,

Same here although i was told six months and not one month. Apparently there is a tapered commission payback involved which expires after the sixth monthly payment..I think this is accurate as i paid off the finance on my GT4 after the fourth payment which resulted in me receiving an awkward phone call from my OPC's Business Manager.

Tbh up to you when you pay it back , tuff on their part i say. When they offer a part ex lower than we stealanycar.com i have no sympathy.

This - I was offered £,000’s BELOW the WBAC offer on my GT4 when I was looking at trading up to 992C4S. Which would have gone on the forecourt with a £20k uplift.
I hope Philip is still enjoying my old GT4

May have changed then...that was over a year ago. Did seem amazing to me that they got full commission if you only kept it going for a month. Guess VWFS stopped the games !

That was in 2011 though...
Just wondered whether anybody has recently got any kind of discount on a Cayman GTS 4.0?

£2k off an Oct-20 order, delivered in Mar-21. Back then it was £1k off for taking finance + £1k off the 718 range.
Good luck, I hear their order book is pretty full at the moment so not sure how much leverage you'll have to get anything currently

Thanks. At the moment i am getting 1.5% so about £1200 off. Likely delivery early 2022. Doesn’t seem too bad given demand for cars is high. I cannot seem to get anything for taking the finance deal.

I went through Coast2Coast originally and they couldn’t honour the 4.0 prices claimed.
That said maybe things have changed now and I’ve successfully used them before and really recommend them, so defo worth a go.

Looks like the C2C site is saying 1% on Macan GTS.
Got 1% on a Macan GTS that we ordered last year but the way they were talking when we collected a few weeks back we would be lucky to get a car let alone a discount if ordering now.
Salesman joked when we collected we could advertise it and probably make £5k.

He’s not joking mind , put your details into WBAC just for a guide price.
Wife got her Macan GTS in April and they’ve offered over £3k more than the purchase price.
Bumping this as currently pondering a new 992.2 T order…
Anyone secured a discount recently? My desired spec takes the car to 122k
I want to suggest a a deal at 110k (with dealer covering new car tax). This might well have been laughable in times gone by but im wondering if things have changed of late?
Worth asking/ ringing around with your spec.
If they the OPC have a similar spec in stock will be easier to get a discount. But personally I would be looking at 10% discount minimum
Yeah, it s tricky. Ive been looking at a lot of delivery miles cars and trying to weigh against a new order.
When you adjust for VAT they dont seem that heavily discounted and of course you ll never get exactly the spec you want
Is it worth trying different dealers within the same group or do you have to jump to a different group if your offer is politely declined?

I would try different dealers in group and different groups etc as some sales people are more helpful than others

You’ll probably have more luck at quarter end….which is June. OPC’s have quarterly sales targets to hit so tend to be more flexible if they need to sell a few cars. Specific models can sometimes be in short supply because of how Porsche do allocations for OPC’s…they tend to vary them between models…sometimes an OPC might not have an allocation for a base Carrera coming through for months and have plenty of GTS allocations and vice versa.
A brief summary of my experience in the last 12mths (I have posted this before elsewhere on here):
Spring 2025 - Base Carrera or Carrera T Cab enquiry. OPC Sheffield, 10% off a stock car, “some” discount but not much off a factory order (wouldn’t commit to an exact figure). Didn’t continue as offered awful trade in.
August 2025 - New, in stock Carrera T Cab at OPC Solihull. Advertised with (IIRC) 18% discount. Good trade-in. Bought it.
Jan 2026 - Went with a friend who wanted to buy a 6mth old, ex-demo GTS Cab at OPC Leicester. Advertised with (IIRC) 20% discount compared to list. Was prepared to buy if trade in was ok and offered any additional discount. Offered him poor trade in and zero extra discount. He walked. They knocked a further £8k off it in the following weeks.

Never understood this line taken by dealers, you’ve got someone wanting to buy , do a deal and move on , or keep it and end up making less a few months later.
A small bit of cake is better than no cake.

To be fair we do this annoyingly in a totally different industry ( used plant sales)
Get offered a deal and it doesn't sound very sexy so we decline. In the following weeks the market moves and we end up having to drop lower than the orignal offered deal. It happens once in a while.
My recent experience of Porsche is they do not chase you at all, interested in a car sure, you have our number. That's it, suggest you're into either their car or somebody else's, hoping they might come to the party? Nope, contact us when you have made your mind up.....
Its arogance but they have what we want.
So far discussions with dealers have been disappointing. 5k off a new order (basically covering new car tax) is not doing much for me so I’m now looking AUC…
I’m always somewhat puzzled by folks’ approach to discounts. No one has to discount, and when they do en masse you end with a BMW/Audi/Merc approach where everything is devalued as a result of discounting. It’s swings and roundabouts. You can’t grizzle that your resale is poor when you’ve gnawed to the bone on purchase price.
Whilst Porsche had a crappy 2025, we all know why. They’ve been clear in stating their strategy moving forward, ergo become less of a volume seller. Therefore do they need to fall over themselves in discounting? I suspect not.
Are discounts available for right car, right time, absolutely, it’s always been thus.
I wouldn’t necessarily mind 0% discounts on cars - it would make the buying process simpler as you’d know before even walking into a dealer what you were about to pay.
But I can understand why people currently chase a deal as they can see discounts are (sometimes) out there. I’d be p*ssed if I paid £20k more for the same car as the next customer.
It’s the total disparity that confuses me. As the recents posts have shown, we’ve seen 0%, 5%, 10% and 18% offered on 911s in the past 12mths.

5% minimum on a new order is possible. Double that for a stock new car, which have some pointless options (aim for that regardless of the discount they are giving over the configuration price).
Went shopping for a 992.2 recently.
Went in as a cash buyer with a firm budget that’s comfortably enough for the spec I’m after, but unsurprisingly the dealer was keen to steer me towards more expensive stock using finance to bridge the gap.
What did surprise me was that the brand-new cars they already had in stock were effectively no cheaper than ordering my exact spec from the factory. The only meaningful incentive they offered was covering the first year’s road tax.
Maybe I’m naive but I assumed there’d be at least some discounting on pre-built inventory cars sitting in the showroom.
I would expect a pretty strong discount on existing inventory.
To give you an idea I recently got 20% off a car specced up to 129k
Car had 500miles on the clock, registered in December and effectively ‘as new’ albeit technically used stock i suppose.
