Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Hi all, For fun I was using my Claude subscription to make my power/torque curve graph more useable. In the owners manual there are two separate graphs. I had Claude combine the two (from photos) and convert the units to US units. Its much easier to compare the two now. One insight is that if you shift your Boxter S at 5000 rpm-ish, its not faster than the Base Boxter shifted at 7000. That is the data-based reason behind the talk of how the base is great but you have to wind it out more. I find this stuff fascinating! BTW, that task really made Claude work. It took like 5-10min and maxed out my "allotment" of compute time for one request. Image processing take a lot of "tokens" aparently. Gearing of the Base is shorter in the first 3 gears also...

POST 2Original post

Follow up! I looked at the gear ratios of the S vs the Base, and from what I can put together from internet data ( porsche does not put gear ratios in the owners manual, unlike the 1995 911 , sadly) 1st gear overall ratio (including final drive) is 11% shorter and second gear is 5% shorter. Interpretation? Base (by the numbers) is probably faster than the S to 3000rpm (power curves overlap) then is less slow above like 3500rpm than the power differential would otherwise suggest, at least in 1st and 2nd gear, even if both motors are shifted at redline. Not a huge insight but it does add some quantitative info to the discussion. I would love to have the curves after the Softronic tune i got for my base... as the seat of the pants dyno says it is meaningfully quicker to accelerate.
