Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

996.1 C4. Looking for a replacement front bumper, as stock one got backed into in a parking lot the other day (I they didn't even leave a note). The license plate holder took the hit and but put a hole in the bumper. I don't think the stock bumper are repairable, are they? Anyway, OEM is very expensive and I was just wondering if there were some other, more cost effective solutions out there. The aero/GT bumper looks great, but I would settle for stock.

They can be repaired. Mine is getting the cracks panel bonded next week, sanded down and painted.

i traded a 400mi round trip in my totorhome to pick up my friends z06 for the work. He works at a bodyshop. I would imagine it would be $3-600 to fix a bumper depending on how bad it is.

I have thought about the same thing myself. I have a 99C4 and like the more aggressive large openings on the 2 edges of the 996.2 turbo than to typical 996.1 radiator openings. The difficulty is the 996.1 lower edge of the lights extends into the bumper piece. Saw on Amazon a RUF bumper for a 996.1 at reasonable price, but have reservations as to how it will fit MY car. Also, don't recall what material it is. Some are fiberglass and not as flexible as OEM, I am told. Anyway, still on the fence.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
