Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 2002 Boxster S that I have everything to do a 996 turbo front end swap. I specifically hunted down the non-Xenon lights because I prefer the look without the headlight washer and my Boxster is also non-Xenon lights. So I have the headlights, I have the plugs, but I want to make sure I get the wiring right. It should be pretty simple because each of them have 7 wires and the colors even all match, but the pins are in different places. I would like to mate the factory wiring to the new plug, but I want to make sure that everything matches up correctly. This *seems* easy enough since the wiring colors all match up exactly, but I don't want to take any chances of frying these headlights. I've found tons of info on the Xenon/Litronic headlights, but almost nothing on the halogen lights. I found this on another forum (I don't have a broken pin) to use for the 986 wiring, does someone have something similar for the 996.2 non-Xenon pins? Can anyone offer some help? Thanks! Pic of the car (bad pic, sorry):
