Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Pulled apart the cowl to clean up and do other maintenance. Cant figure out where this sucker goes though?

POST 4Original post

Since you were near the cowl I am guessing it's part #20? http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=904-10

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Not part 20. Very sure thats installed also had the headlights out for a polish. So could be around there as well.

POST 7Original post

I found an extra one in my frunk when I bought my 996 few years ago.

POST 8Original post

Here are the catalogues for the headlights. I don't see anything with a 90-degree angle on these diagrams... Whats new in Nebraska?

POST 11Original post

Only thing I found, looking remotely close, was a breather pipe near headlight assembly. Even that just doesn't look close enough.

POST 12Original post

I had that exact part, it goes to the battery! It must have been replaced by the clear one on your battery but Im almost certain thats what it is.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The clear battery tube I have runs all the way to the drain hole. Which makes total sense. Otherwise I'm imagining that there's be a bunch of corrosion from the outgassing.

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

perhaps other battery models have the breather nipple that fits this tube? because it doesn't fit my current battery

POST 16Original post

Quotes source post: 17960904

That could be the actual point. New battery. Drain doesn't fit. Puts in clear hose. Tosses OEM battery vent hose in the frunk by the battery for the future.

POST 17Original post

AGM batteries don't off gas and can be locked into a ventless enclousure.
