Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

I've had hell and all kinds of problems trying to source a pair of PS4s to replace the PS2 rears on my 997, and have actually had to go to Pirelli P-Zero N2s as they're literally the only tyre anyone has right now (Well, apart from a couple of comedians charging Unicorn money for PS4s)

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Looking for some new tyres for my 996.2 GT3 Wheels, but can only get Michelins in a PS4 Front, PS2 Rear setup due to availability etc. Is there any potential hazard/danger/mismatch with this set up..? Both are Y rated; Fronts 95, Rears 98..

POST 2Original post

I wouldn't think this would be an issue. The PS2 is still a good tyre even if the tech in it is a bit older.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks [ ] I couldn't think why there would be an issue, but a mate put it into my head that there might be..!

POST 4Original post

Strictly speaking it is an issue as the compounds will be different and will have different characteristics. It‘ll be a warranty issue (if you can still get one) However, if you’re not tracking it I wouldn’t be too concerned.

POST 5Original post

If anything it might help the understeer, if you have grippier tires in the front... FWIW, I just got new PS2 rears, which I find much better than the Pirellis.
