Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. I have a 2002 c2 cab and the remote locking has stopped working, the last time it worked was from inside the car and now nothing, I have replaced the battery and still nothing.
Leading evidence: 'Replace battery and still nothing' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check keys again and one does rapid flash, does' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. I have just checked the keys again and one does rapid flash, does that mean it just needs coding to the car?

Which sounds like Porsche aren't going to be able to replace the old key with a new replacement?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi
I have a 2002 c2 cab and the remote locking has stopped working, the last time it worked was from inside the car and now nothing, I have replaced the battery and still nothing. I have seen many different ways of re sync the key please can I have a list of possible solutions. Also just to add I have 2 keys the one that did work the led stays on when pressed and the spare that has never worked flashes every second or so when the button is held down. Thanks in advance[

Have a look at my recent post re key fob Is it the central locking or the remote? If the remote then you may need a new fob, as I did, which has to be matched to the car by a suitable garage
The LED on the key should rapid-flash when the button is pressed. If it stays on, or flashes once a second, it is toast, I'm afraid. Very common for them to stop working for no apparent reason.
I have just checked the keys again and one does rapid flash, does that mean it just needs coding to the car? If so can I do it with the various on/off methods or does it no to go in?
The only thing I can suggest is to try restarting the processor in the remote. Take out the battery, and insert it the wrong way up for 2-3 seconds. Then put it back it the right way round. Unfortunately, the remote can only be re-coded to the car if it was a replacement key, and you have the original security tag from when it was new. Porsche don't record the remote security codes at the factory.
I'm sure no-one will mind my jumping onto this thread here but plagued with two keys which had very suddenly failed to function remotely I thought I'd give this trick a try:
And that worked for one of two keys. Jumped the batteries around between the keys and tried a different battery but one key still not active remotely. So maybe the second key has died in a permanent way which makes me think that treating myself to one replacement might not be so bad.
But then.......
Which sounds like Porsche aren't going to be able to replace the old key with a new replacement? Really?
Maybe I worded that badly.
If you want a new replacement key, no problem. If you have a working key that loses its coding to the car, it can't be re-coded unless you have original bar code label that came with the key.
Richard,
Obliged to you. What I've got is an original key fob now not functioning. It worked within the past 6 months but all attempts with new batteries and new batteries reversed fail to generate any signs of life. PLus I've got a fully functional original. Either way I can get a coded replacement then. Cheers!
