Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hi i'm a new member here and have a 996 gen 1 cabriolet with the porsche factory 18" split rims (same as GT3 style but 7.5J at front) and would like to fit wheel spacers having read up on other forums there seems to be different options some go with 7mm at front and 15mm at rear but quite a few say 15mm all round ? any advice from members who run spacers ? don't want any rubbing issues and know i need hubcentric ones with longer bolts suitable for Porsche alloys r14 ball type i would just go with 7mm-15mm but many say they regret not going more on the front so be good hear if anyone runs them ?

POST 2Original post

I added 5mm spacers to the front of my C4, not for aesthetic reasons, but to increase track slightly. More of a cheat to overcome adjustable coffin arms fitted to GT cars and the limitations to a front drive shaft. It also helps to introduce some oversteer as suggested by center gravity. I purchased them from FVD.net. The PET lists 5mm and 17mm spacers - not sure if OPC still sell these parts.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks for the reply , yes i have decided 7mm front and 15mm rear ordered and arrived with correct bolts etc will fit over weekend !
