Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys not been on for a while as moving house to get a garage for car alarm went off again last night and lots of varying opinions online. Simply put I am going to disconnect tilt sensor and alarm siren today as neighbours really not amused !! However if the alarm then triggers will it still sound the horn ? And is that the same horn you press in the centre of steeejng wheel. Doesn’t bother me short term if the hazards flash when triggered the noise is appalling at 4am. HELP PLEASE

POST 2Original post

I don’t know. But can you disarm the alarm using a battery kill switch instead? I’ve done that in the past for the same reason.

POST 3Original post

Is your battery in tip top condition? A flattening battery can trigger alarm

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Happy to diagnose problem over time just want to shut it the **** up so as not to annoy neighbours!!!

POST 6Original post

Horn will still sound if you disconnect the siren

Sympathetically disconnecting the horns is a pia involving removal of front bumper, u r asking how to stop the noise without diagnosing thr cause? No point in having a theft deterrent thr can be easily turned off…

POST 8Original post

Quotes source post: 2816224

That's the standard horns behind the bumper and has nothing to do with the alarm. The alarm horn is on the driverside of the battery and is very easily accessible . Circled in the photo below: If you want a silent night, turn the ignition on, disconnect the battery, disconnect the siren and the horn, reconnect the battery and lock the car. That should do the trick.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hiya that’s perfect done it in 10 mins tranquility ahead. Many thanks Alex

POST 10Original post

I've had small spiders inside the car trigger my alarm 3 times over the last 6 or 7 years, so it is not always the obvious.
