Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'm just about to do a new clutch install and figured I'd have them replace the IMS, RMS and AOS at the same time.

However it makes sense to do it since the trans has to be dropped for the clutch but I would much prefer to use the less expensive Pelican kit than the LN Engineering one.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What's the latest update on the Pelican IMS kit. The last thing I remember reading was that was in testing with an anticipated fall 2010 release. I'm just about to do a new clutch install and figured I'd have them replace the IMS, RMS and AOS at the same time. I have a '99 996 but have no oil leaks. Just had a major service done and there was nothing in the oil or oil filter so I think the IMS is probably OK. However it makes sense to do it since the trans has to be dropped for the clutch but I would much prefer to use the less expensive Pelican kit than the LN Engineering one. FYI, all of the parts needed for this project will be coming from Pelican even if I have to go with the LN Engineering IMS kit. BTW, I would be more than happy to offer my car as a test subject for this kit if you need anymore.
